Issues converting materia

Hello,

My guardian is level 20 now. I completed the Life, Materia and Everything quest. Now I am trying to convert some of my 100% spiritbond items. I read that I should be able to rightclick on the item and see a link to "convert", but I do not. I checked the items and they say they are 100% spiritbond and they say they are convertible. But there is no option to convert. What am I missing?

Make sure it does not have Non-Convertible, cause if it does = you can't Convert it.

Yeah.... I checked that first. The items show "convertible". Still didn't get the dropdown when rightclicking.

There's a second quest that you have to do (Forging the Spirit) in order to actually create Materia. You need to have a level 19+ crafting class in order to accept this quest.

You don't need to have a crafting class to make materia, you only need one to unlock attaching materia.

Nope, inventory is not full. I still don't have an option to convert the items. I double checked everything... quest is completed, item is 100% spiritbound, and it is marked as convertible. But right clicking only gives me the option to move it from armory to inventory (or vice versa), equip it, discard it. No option to convert it.

To make matters even worse, I can't create a bug report. I tried.... and it always tells me "my text is too long" even though I counted. 127 characters is far less than the maximum 2000 characters.

Are you experiencing this issue for off-hand equipment specifically?
Because I'm getting the same thing - missing convert option when I try. I can convert other items fine, but I've got some sledgehammers and scythes I'm not able to.

@Estellios: You're right, I was thinking of another quest in the same area. My bad; crafting classes aren't required to create materia.

Have you done Forging The Spirit yet? Because I haven't seen you mention it or acknowledge my original post, OP.
