Greetings everyone,
After having blast leveling the new ACN class i loved how it has the possibilities to branch into different jobs, giving us more gameplay variety.
I'd love for other classes to have more jobs choices aswell so, as a simple fan of the game as i am, i've been thinking on what could fit in the game using legacy FF jobs and our current lore without inventing too much.
CNJ - Geomancer
Geomancy could fit well with the earth and wind theme and could give CNJ a Damage Dealer alternative, there is no real lore about geomancy at the moment but i think it could easily fit with the twelveswood/nature theme.
THM - Necromancer
A job that rarely appeared in the FF series although necromancy was often used by npcs and enemies.
FFXIV seems to have the lore for it though: Sil'dih, the ancient city enemy of Ul'dah, employed Dark Arts to raise the dead as soldiers (which are those undead mobs roaming around its ruins).
It would still be a Damage Dealer but, unlike BLM, it would focus more on debuffs than burst damage and could, possibly, summon temporary undead pets.
ARC - Ranger
Ranger seems a no brainer choice for archer, it would be a pure damage dealer with crowd control added to it (traps, nets etc).
In the lore it could easily fit with the Southern Shroud miqo'te poachers or the Sagolii Desert rangers.
MRD - Dark Knight
This job would focus more on the slaughter aspect of the MRD class, gaining reckless abilities and draining moves offering the class a damage dealer variant job.
The lore doesn't have Dark Knights as of yet but they could easily be put somewhere, maybe as a fighter sect which made pacts with Voidsent?
LNC - Templar
This job is taken from the FFTactics serie, i could see it as a tank variant for the LNC class, focusing on enhancing and self healing magicks.
In the lore they could easily be the elite force of the Holy See of Ishgard, mirroring what the Paladins are for the Sultanate of Ul'dah.
GLA - Onion Knight
This one was a hard pick since it's not that easy to find a sword and board job that wouldn't be too similar to a paladin.
