    Request for additional Mob placements for farming

    I'm starting this thread to bring up the problem that I've found as a Weaver which is the difficulty of farming materials necessary to level up this class. I can't be the only one who's having issues with this and I can't see Weaver being the only DoH class having issues with farming for materials.

    Currently there is only one small place to farm fleece and I find myself having trouble farming because of all the others farming on top of players trying to get EXP off the Karakuls. This is also the same case with Banemites for Diremite webs.

    I would like to be able to gather my own materials to level up my class an create my own gear instead of being forced into paying absurd prices on the boards for base materials.

    Point of this thread is exactly as the title says, I'd like to request additional mobs that way people like me can gather materials. Sorry if a thread has already been posted about this before but I'd like to see something done to resolve this issue.

    I second this, I've found that most materials you need to farm from mobs, except maybe raptors, also have a quest for killing those mobs, why make players compete in such a way. Back in 1.0 there were 3 spawn camps for fleece, that each could support two people. Now its basically one per side, with people questing coming in killing them. WHY make it off a quest mob? Just why, did you think that something weavers need from like 40 on wouldn't be that important, and we wouldn't need a lot of it? Or that people would stop questing eventually, because both those are wrong styles of thinking SE, just add a few more mob spawns, in maybe different places, not even tied to quests, that drop things such as fleece. I'd be the happiest camper ever.

    I'd be happy if they added fleece and webs to Botanist gathering nodes, regular ones.. NOT unspoiled.

    There is a lvl . . .20 or 25 leve in Quarrymill that has you make Initiates Slops called "Pantsor Corps" or something like that, It sometimes gives out 11 Diremite web as a item reward.

    I got 66 Diremite Web the other day from him before he stopped handing it out. I have no idea if the rewards are timer based or what, but if you turn in HQ Initiates Slops you also make a fair amount of experience and old while getting some Diremite Web!!


    However I agree there should be a Botanist node for this nonsense.... Because the drop rates are RIDICULOUSLY low on the Diremite Web. I' not a high enough lvl to need fleece.... but I think I will start gathering it whenever I am Svara Hunting.
    And the MarketBoard Prices are ludicrous. I downright refuse to pay for a single Diremite Web at 1,000gil.

    Nearly every piece of high-level food requires Apkallu eggs, and there is only one camp for them. There's a ton of enemies there but still, it would be great to have more. Same with Night Milk.

    Was just commenting today as amazing as the game is..the areas are so much smaller than 1.0, and we for sure need more mobs to farm. Was trying to get a HQ fleece to drop and was lucky if I was able to kill 1 mob, and wait for it to re-spawn. Ridiculous.

    I totally agree. I am not a friend of competing with others in case of farming materials. It's no fun and doesn't help anyone except the frustration. I could understand if some materials would be rare for crafting very good armor, but these items are just for leveling up. So yes it's not a smart move from SE to place like 10 mobs on the whole server for all the weavers who want to level up their job. I'm doing a quest for diremite webs at the moment, slow but at least no competition.

    Agreed, i'm having constant issues with a certain SMN that will come by and cast their AoE that lasts for like a minute on top of the spawns so they automatically get the claim and i get nothing. Obviously being a job with a long term AoE will make you a successful farmer....but what of us that have jobs like WHM that don't have such abilities? I think its quite poor planning to only make 5 mobs and a FATE boss drop fleece. I do understand 'bottlenecking', however, S.E.'s idea of 'bottlenecking' is more of draining a dam out of a pinhole. For me, it isn't fun having to get maybe 2 or 3 claims in 10 minutes for an item i don't want to pay 400+ gil for. In conclusion, Square Enix's idea on a lot of gathering is to allow a few people to monopolize on an item and keep the poorer people paying huge sums for a tiny bit of resource to help them get further in the game.

    If they only thing they're casting is one AoE, then you should still be able to get drops. The "sharing" feature of the game that allows you to get credit for kills that others have claimed also appears to work for drops as well as exp and quest/log kills. However, you need to do a minimum threshold of damage if you don't get the claim, and this is where you can be kept from getting the drops you need.

    But if the person claiming is only releasing a single AoE attack, then I would expect you would still be able to hit the required damage threshold (though they are, in effect, leeching off of your hard work since you're doing the vast majority of the damage).

    Totally agree on this topic. It makes no since to have drops off of mobs. Drops that come from so few mobs, and that you must compete for, but the mats that drop from DoL nodes are done solo. Kinda bites SE that I can harvest nearly 300 Flax in the south shroud in about 2 hours, but in the same time period, I'd be lucky to get 20 fleece.
