Leveling/Party question

Hey all wasn't really sure where the best place to put this would be but this looked like the most appropriate place.

Recently just hit Rank 27 and I am wondering what I should be doing to level. Do people actually group and grind mobs in XIV like they did in XI or am I suppose to simply just behest all day?

Behest were nice but now that I hit 27 it seems like they don't give that much sp like they did just a few levels ago. Also add in the fact that they are every half hour and that it isn't always guaranteed to get into one I am wondering if there is a better way.

I would really like to be able to play the game while I am playing instead of sitting around waiting for behest. I do try to kill things near where the battlewarden spawns to get a little bit of sp but the amount earned versus the time taken to kill things and the amount of sp I need to rank up is a bit disheartening.

I would really like to explore and meet people and party to kills things but as it is it seems like people only sit around the battlewarden afk until he shows up then we just party out of necessity without saying a word to each other then part ways after it is over simply to do the same dance again and again.


tl;dr When do people start partying or is it just behest all the way to 50?

If you join a LS you can party with them. A good way to level is to do leves in groups and link the leves.

I have been on the look out for linkshells that are recruiting but I guess I just need to be more forward and just start asking for invites to one then.

I'd say look on your server forum on this forum or any of the fan forums. Otherwise I'd say put up a /shout in Ul'dah looking for a LS. Actually feel free to send me a /tell in game and I may be able to get you an invite lol

I thought Id add a note, that you will find sp is slower now because SE increased the amount of SP earned you get from 1-23
