    PS3 to PC

    Can someone get FFXIV for the ps3 then download the launcher on the pc and play it there?

    I'm pretty sure you have to purchase the PC version of the client. Then you can link both accounts and play your characters on either platform.

    Sorry for being a computer illiterate noob :P but does that mean if I re-format my computer I have to re-buy the game because I have the digital version? I thought the CD key was the only thing important not the client download?

    Not a problem No, once you've purchased the game, it's yours. If you re-format your PC you'll have to download it again but it's still linked to your Square Enix account. PlayStation 3 copies can only play on the PS3 unless they also purchase the PC version and then link it within the Square Enix account management system.

    You're most welcome. Was in the same boat myself a few days back. Couldn't get a PC copy anywhere so was hoping we could buy 2x PlayStation 3 to save time, alas that was not the case
