    FATE FIX IDEA

for those that manage to get every FATE is potentially powerlvling and lvling faster than they should be.and then their are those that struggle to get to a fate because by the time they get half way to the FATE, its already been completed from the mass zerg.

so the idea would be to reduce the amount of fates that spawn in any 1 area of a maximum number of 1 fate every 30 mins, make the fate mobs a lot tougher so they take longer to die, which would make the FATE last longer for other players to be able to participate in the FATE and increase the EXP the fate gives out.

every 30 minutes a fate would start,or end every 30 minutes ready for the next one,if the fate has not been completed.and wuld stop people powerlvling so fast to 50.
mobs spawn that are a lot tougher meaning more time to kill, the fate will most likely be zerged anyway the mobs would need to be fairly tough.so that should solve the zerging problem by dragging out the fate.
and more exp rewarded on completion.

While that sounds like a great idea, it has one major problem. Many world events like that existed in games like RIFT and GW2 the problem is that it would have to scale well with the number of people otherwise it just wont be completed when players move on from a location. With fewer people on a hard fate it becomes tough to impossible to complete and often gets ignored. Basically it just needs to have a proper scaling system.

Should I be allowed to decide how fast you're allowed to level, Duck?

Wait, so some people get to every FATE, while some can get to none. So we should limit the number of FATEs and make them longer simply because some people are not capable of making it to them, while others make everyone without an issue?

So penalize the skilled for the sake of the lazy/incapable? come on.. get real..

I could definitely imagine the rage. Two FATEs appear on the map and I CAN ONLY CHOOSE ONE? I WANT MY MONEYZ BACKZZ NAOWW! Seriously, the things people are complaining about are laughable.

I think the problem is, that at times there are so many people at a FATE. Mobs are dying way too fast on some to the point for others, you might as well just watch or not bother trying to get any decent amount of xp from it. It's crazy sometimes so I just watch or continue leveling a craft or w/e.
That said, I see people waiting to do a dungeon using DF, all the while there's shouts for FATE parties. Maybe just maybe someone decides to help those persons do the dungeon. I find DF 50/50 so far on getting dungeons done in a timely manner. Personally I am in no hurry to cap out.

a fate popped up last night literally 3 seconds after it popped it was finished, then another fate popped up after it,it took me 5 seconds to get to the fate, and in those 5 seconds the boss mob was already down to 35% health, fates not only don't last long enough to give other people chance to participate in them because there is so many people being selfish and trying to powerlvl.
but fates pop far to often leading in them being exploited to power lvl very quickly if you manage to get in the zerg.

I like the idea in theory but I think that an issue exists in the form of, well, PlayStation 3! Even now I find it stuttery at times (especially when AOEs are going off), and if you were to reduce it to one big FATE it would just mean everyone in the area would flock to it at once and my PS3 would melt!

With that said, I feel that with FATEs a lessening of the frequency is the best fix - nerf the EXP and people will be more likely to ignore them and soloing them is... rough. Make them less common but still common enough for them to be appealing and you both stop FATE powerleveling and you keep them worthwhile enough to still bother with.
