Whats the fastest way to level a gathering?

I'm currently lv30 BTN, it needs 162,500xp to the next level. Gathering 4 times without fail come to about 1,000xp by average and it takes 8 seconds to do. Put that in with traveling time from nodes to nodes is another 7 seconds by average... it yields 4,000xp per minute, 24,000xp per hour, which means I'd have to sit here for 7 hours non-stop without a single fail in gather to get to the next level... and to imagine I'd have to do this for the next 20 levels...

I'm at my wits end Halp!
