Relic +1 Weapon VS iLvL 90 Body/Legs

So I'm coming up to 900 Mythology next week and I was just wondering what most people thought was the better upgrade (from Darklight Equivalent) from a DD point of view.

Weapon damage is huge for a DPS. One weapon damage is something like 50 of your main stat ( INT for example ) If you aren't low on HP during a bunch of AOE stuff ( titan stomps for example ) I think you're biggest upgrade will be relic+1

I was wondering the same. Honestly, I think a piece of AF2 clothing would give more damage than making your weapon +1. +1 is a slight increase but it seems more of a cosmetic sort of thing. It's also the most powerful weapon in the game, so there's bragging rights as well.

Err, it's 2 weapon damage, and a small upgrade of primary stat and some secondary stats, so the "+1" is pretty good.

Unless the pants/body are like +20 STR over what you had before, then the weapon is better.

At the moment, there is no way to increase WDMG aside from, well, weapons. Point-for-point, WDMG is the most effective means of increasing damage output.

Unless you see yourself breezing through Bahamut's Coil for an Allagan weapon, relic+1 will give the greatest returns. You can always get your AF2 later, or Allagan armor in the meantime.

This is correct. I did this for BRD using my current stats and the ratio is 1 WD = ~8 DEX for me. The equivalency will vary based on crit rate / DTR. See image below. I'd suggest you model out your stats then modify based on the choices you're considering. Based on my current stats, a gear upgrade of roughly +12 DEX or more (ignoring crit / DTR) would beat going from Artemis to the +1 version.

Looking at the two, lowballing 1 WD = 7 STR, i'm using Dragoon gear.

Upgrading Gae Bolg to +1 gives 18 worth of STR (2 WD and 4 STR)
Whereas upgrading Drachen Mail to Wyrm's Mail gives 15 worth of STR (15 STR)

Armor gives +8 Crit and +8 Det, Weapon gives +3 Crit. I presume that the higher the values of Crit and Det the higher that WD will win on pure STR?

That means that the Gae Bolg +1 is still the superior choice. Presumable the same works for every weapon
