This was just an idea a friend and I were talking about. We were trying to decide an easy way to make the mini-game you play while crafting a little be more fun. ^-^

Basically, we thought maybe a creative use of the timer gauge on the synth could encourage people to keep going with "beneficial" marks on the line. Basically, after each synthesis action, dots on the line are randomized. The dots can consist of maybe three different 'mini-buffs' for the action if you hit them at the exact right time.

White - Small Increased chance of a successful synthesis action.
Yellow- Small Increased chance of a quality increase of the synthesis action.
Blue - Small Increased chance of progress made in the event of a successful synthesis action.

And then as a catch to the beneficial dots, maybe one that is counter productive!

Red - Small decrease of the chance of a successful synthesis action.

The idea behind this is that it makes the mini-game a bit more active and it makes you want to pay attention so as to not hit the red dot.

I think they could possible extend or shorten the duration of the timer gauge depending on the difficultly of the synth as well. So if it's an easier synth for you it's easier for you to click the right dots. If it's more difficult it's a bit harder to hit the dots at all!

Just an idea. Please give some thoughts to this and any other ideas you may have. ^-^
