[DoH Question] How To Make Undamaged Items?

My L23 CNJ is a L12 Weaver. I can't make anything that isn't damaged, even when I use Master's Mend. Will this be resolved when my Weaver reaches, say, 25 or 40?

It really bugs me that no matter what I do my stuff comes out damaged. What's the purpose behind that? If "practice makes perfect" - and crafters sure get a TON of practice in this game - why are my items still coming out sub-standard?

I've given up using the "make many" function. It always makes my items come out far worse that when I do things one at a time.

If you mean the "Durability" of the recipe... that's just to show how many 'steps' that effect quality/completion you have left. It has nothing to do with the resulting item except that if it hits 0 your Synthesis fails.

At Level 15 in Goldsmith you learn 'Manipulation' which is cross-class and allows you (for 88 CP) to not lose Durability for the next 3 steps. If used early on, its better than 'Master's Mend' which restores 30 durability for 92.

And yes, the 'make many' Function is called Quick Synthesis and is an automated process.

Yes, I'm not clear what you mean by "damaged".

When you try to make an item, there are three possible outcomes:
    • The attempt fails
    • The attempt succeeds, creating a normal quality (NQ) item
    • The attempt succeeds, creating a high quality (HQ) item

If you succeed, then the item is created completely undamaged (condition = 100%)

    Durability Had Me Confused

I thought that the Durability counter showed me the state of my finished good.

In my feeble mind I thought that a 20/40 result meant that the item I'd just made was half-damaged and needed to be repaired when equipped.

So..., Durability in this game means "steps in the synthesis process?" Schweet! I'm a better crafts-girl that I thought. Woo-hoo!
