It's just a matter of getting used to the patterns. I heal through Amdapor Keep, and I usually have time for 2-3 heals in between dodging the stripes on the ground. And if the group positions the bees well enough (or just kills 'em quickly), they won't impact your movement in any meaningful way.

But I know what you're saying. It took a while before I got comfortable at Demon Wall as a caster.

Once you know the pattern you can preemptively place yourself to maximize casts. When you start the fight, you know the first line is in middle, so place yourself outside and cast.

After you move inside (for the outside lines), there is a delay between when the middle one appears again. Place yourself outside ahead of time and chain cast, then move to middle only when you have to. When you move to mid after the second cycle line yourself up dead center ahead of time so you can get casts off while the wall casts repel.

Rinse and repeat. Yes, you'll have to break some casts, but knowing where to be ahead of time lets you get a lot more spells off than only moving when you are forced to.

This isn't even taking into consideration well timed swiftcasts or anything else.

Still sounds to me like we are losing a lot of dps compared to brd for example.

Well on this fight, are you going to lose some dps? Absolutely, because you are going to have to move. I find though, that I can usually delay movement just enough to finish a cast while I move. For some reason moving with like .2-.3 seconds left on the cast will let the cast finish while I change positions. Should that happen? Who knows, but it works and I use it to my advantage as much as possible. It results in a much smaller net loss than straight up interrupting a cast.

Edit: See below post for a better description of the preemptive positioning I was talking about. Maybe with a |---|-x-|---| after the second outside line so you don't get repelled off.

If you have a BRD in your group, have them requiem and then you turn into a god.

The key is positioning...you know EXACTLY where and when the lines form.

if the field is like this |---|---|---|, position yourself at the x like this |--x|---|---|

You wil NOT have to move for the first line, which you know how long it lasts (approx 2 gcds, enough time for a something III + scathe then move).

And then you move to here |---|x--|---|, then at your leisure (perhaps during during a blizzard rotation), pause your rotation (or scathe) for about .5 seconds and move back to starting pos.

Then voila, you only have to move once every 30 seconds.

For repel (right before and after), scathe in right after 2nd set of lines, cast one spell, scathe as he pushes and go right back to your position.

You should never have to move longer than the duration of a GCD at any time.

And one repel every say, minute or two, means you lose ~2 GCDs, out of nearly 30, which is not terrible consider you can scathe.

Scathe is your friend while you're figuring out how to move or unsure if you'll get a cast off. Some damage beats just interrupting the cast and it beats the hell out of being slowed/dead.

Yes once you learn the patterns casting is easy on wall, I admit though I messed up at first but eventually I got it and can now do AK in my sleep. A good meele dps partner helps too.

Personally I got a few pieces of DL before doing AK, because whenever people see me in AF they leave. Once I got nearly full darklight minus earring, people were less likely to leave.

As posted several times above: with proper (and preemptive) positioning your DPS loss is minimal. Yes, the BRD in your party might outparse you. But you are still very effective.
