Greetings,

The development team is aware that there are times when you cannot participate in content so easily and without worry, and I’d like to let you know future countermeasures we have planned to address this.
Significantly reduce repair fees and the cost of dark matter
While the focus will be placed on high-levels, we will be significantly lowering the overall fees for repair and the cost of dark matter.

Addition of item level requirements for high-level dungeon participation
We'll be adding a requirement to participate in high-level dungeons and hard mode primal battles that will make it so you need to have equipment above a certain item level equipped to participate. To coincide with this, we will be implementing a system that will display the average item level for your gear in the character window.

Addition of a party recruitment window
We'll be implementing a bulletin board type of system where you can recruit party members that are only on your world. When recruiting, you can indicate the dungeon you would like to do, the roles you are looking to recruit, the levels, etc. (We'll be announcing the details soon.)

We will be addressing #1 after the maintenance tomorrow, and #2 and #3 will be implemented after patch 2.1.

I'm personally excited at the prospect...just hopefully it doesn't count cloth gear for tanks etc and other ways of exploiting the system.

Something tells me this is going to push away a lot of players ( unless the gear score is reasonable) If you need like all Darklight gear to do end game content then this will sure back fire. I feel people shouldn't be restricted of content because there gear isn't up to snuff.

I never played WoW so I don't know if gearscore is considered a bad thing there but I don't see what's terribly wrong with it. Much better than being in a level 50 primal/dungeon and seeing a dps class who's wearing level 20 accessories and a white level 44 weapon.

It is one of those "HELL YEAH!" if done right but "OH GOD NO" if done wrong type of situations, I personally think it is a good thing.

I'm fairly confident that the requirements won't be severe. I'd imagine that it'd be only to prevent very undergeared people from participating in lv50 content (folks still using mostly ~lv30 gear at 50). Like perhaps you could gain access to high level dungeons (I'm assuming they're referring to 46+) by having at least all lv40 gear or whatnot. Scale as it progresses.

GS was a blight on WoW during WotLK.

I was a 6000+ Unholy DK so I had no issues with raiding but it was still garbage.

If it is reasonable, (you need at least IL45 gear in all slots to get into DF for Ifrit hard. I can see getting people locked out for having lv 30ish gear in a level 50 fight.

How else do you expect them to get good gear? I'm just saying, the way some people are now about the gear thing ticks me off. I'd rather play with an undergeared player than a 'leet' screaming at people because they dare to attempt AK in AF.

So long as it is reasonable this is highly needed for pug DF. If you make your own group to carry a friend then that doesn't need it

They could always make it a toggle option in Duty Finder much like the whole "join party already in progress" toggle on the upper potion before searching for an instance to enter.
