My life as a fulltime Gatherer/Crafter.

I did not really know where to post this so general Discussion seemed like the right place.
First of all I want to say the crafting and gathering in Final Fantasy 14 : A Realm Reborn, is just simply amazing!
I have not had this mutch fun crafting and gathering materials for a long time. It does have it flaws ofcourse, for example when you wan't to use a retainer you need to LvL up your figthing class all the way up to 17 and do the main story quest to get them, but that does not take to long.
My biggest worrie at this moment, is will we fulltime gatherers and crafters be able to get a house when they release? Or will we again have to LvL up our fighting class? It kind of limits the way I want to play. I do like the story and the combat is really cool too, but still.
Beside that I quit the main story at lvl 17 what els is there that you get for doing the main story?

Get your chocobo at least. You'll thank yourself for it later.

You'll probably want your chocobo and want to finish the quest for materia melding, but after that, there's not much else you need for crafting/gathering. I don't see any reason why dedicated crafters or gatherers won't be able to buy a house, either, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

At what Main Story Quest do you get a chocobo ?

Please remember that once 2.1 lands, it will be Free Company Housing that is implemented first, not personal housing

Level 20 +, you will complete the Ifrit storyline and then be presented with the storyline to join a Grand Company. You get the chocobo from the GC you join by trading in 2000 seals for a chocobo voucher. The seals you can get from Fates, gc combat leves, or gc gathering/crafting leves.

After that I think you're golden for leveling solely crafting/gathering classes.
