Why does it seem like so many people are sacrificing fun in a mad dash to level 50 and the best gear?
There's so much more to enjoy on the wonderful subcontinent of Eorzea than spamming Fates for exp and dungeon speed runs for gear. Fates and dungeons are more fun if you balance them with other activities, anyway.
"BUT VAEN, WHA' ELSE CN I DO BESIDES SPAMMING TH' SAME SMALL PORTION OF TH' CONTENT OVER AN' OVER???," you ask me in your best fake cockney accent.
Well, pal, I have a few ideas.
Level another class a bit. Some of the level class quests have really great characters and stories. They're worth checking out.
You could try a tradecraft. Yeah, they're not financially rewarding at low levels, but there's still a lot to gain. I've easily made 100,000 gil over the past week with a little bit of clever level 30 LTW & GSM sales on the trading boards. (Though I'm on a Legacy server so maybe your mileage will vary.) Crafting can be a little slow, so I recommend listening to a good podcast while you do it. It makes for a very nice experience.
Most especially, I recommend taking the time to explore and find good screenshot opportunities. Especially in this gorgeous world, it's a lot of funI really enjoyed taking shots of me and my newfound backup dancers:
I know there's lots of other great things to enjoy in this game too. Anyone else have any good examples?
But yeah, take some time and smell the mandragoras. You might find that things a lot of people are complaining about, like gil, dungeon frustrations, fate overcrowding, and so on, won't be as big a thorn in your side.
