It's more like a graphical issue...

But can someone PLEASE fix the graphics so that my long hair doesn't go THROUGH the back of my robes, down hoods, or anything with a high collar?

It's really annoying to look at and shouldn't be an issue for a game made in 2013 (let alone the option to blist someone from clicking their name in the chat box).

that kind of physics would put so much strain on the game it would be unplayable. the technology to have hair braid properly over clothes, without clipping, is not optimized for mmos due to the vast amount of characters on screen.

The only other option would be for them to forcefully alter your hairstyle on equipment that your hair would clip through. Trust me, it's not as nice as it sounds

I thought about this, and I for certain wouldn't like it. I was entertaining the idea about equipping different hair styles to the character as you would a piece of equipment. One time fee to buy a hair style to equip at any time... sure beats going to the barber shop and spending gil every time I decide to change my hair to suit my armor.

Tera had/has this function and it worked to same degree. Not everyone liked it, figures.
