I can run any other game fine with no lag no issues no nothing, for hours on end. I play this game for two minutes it freezes, it logs me off with 90000 message, you can't see anything during fights or battles. I play on slim version of ps3 that is kept well and cleaned and has maybe two small games on it with plenty of free space. This game throws me off and on like crazy which makes trying to play an MMO pretty pointless considering you can't start a quest fight or join a dungeon crawl. We'll see what happens after maint. But i won't be paying a monthly fee for it.
In my younger days I broke more playstations and PS2 then I care to count with over use. constant 8, 11, 14, 16 hours playing sessions.
For my current PS3 (a slim line) I noticed it would sometimes over heat if I played for too long, but as well as that the fan at the back would really only blow hot air right onto the back wall; and the heat wasn't really being expelled from the area.
then I just turned it sideways, as in, the side of the console now faces the wall and the back of the console faces out into the room on the shelf it sits on.
Now it never over heats.
It goes without saying that you should regularly clean the vents. to stop your console getting encrusted with a fluffy, quilt-like layer of dust.

This sounds more like network issues than PS3 issues. Especially since it doesn't seem that every person with a PS3 is getting the same errors. Maybe make sure your playing on a wired connection if it all possible and check your router settings.I can run any other game fine with no lag no issues no nothing, for hours on end. All I can say is I have this for the PS3. I've had it running constantly for a dozen hours or more. The fan kicks into high, but there's been no other difficulties. Does your PS3 have sufficient ventilation where you've put it?Im currently posting this thread so others dont have there PS3 crash and no longer start like mine did! I have several friends who say there PS3 freezes from overheating while playing the game! I have had this game for 2 weeks now and it has killed my PS3 and it will no longer turn on! If you do not wish this to happen to you dont but this game for it will overheat your processor and kill your PS3!
As a PS3 user I can admit that this game has no future on this console. The PS4 should be a sigh of relief and address some of the most concerning hardware and performance issues, such as the pop-in for players in highly-populated areas as well as monsters disappearing & reappearing... Far from ideal.
I can only hope that it is early next year that they will release the game for the PS4 as I cannot bear to wait much longer with little efficient ways to level with FATEs being taken out of the question.

Sometimes investing a few quid for some new thermal heat paste can pay dividends tbh....
I could tell you my adventures — beginning from this morning,
but it's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.
If you open the PS3 it voids any current or future warrenty that you would have on the console, I don't think it's wise to do it anyway... These machines are not supposed to be opened unless you exactly know what you're doing because they're not meant to be highly customisable; they are of similar fixed layout of hardware a laptop has.
If someone has a PS3 Slim or a Super Slim then it's highly unlikely given a warm room temperature, that a PS3 would overheat. If one of those consoles gets too hot the system automatically switches itself off. I could only imagine that the reason a PS3 overheats is due to placement or having upgraded the HDD to a higher speed, which is not recommended by Sony.
Ultimately if someone has the very first PS3 (fat) then, yeah... Those things are extremely prone to failure since Sony had not invested in many fail-safes then and a lot were being sent back during the time shortly after release due to overheating.

Mine is still going strong. Out of the thousands of ppl playing om ps3 such a small number of problems tells me it has less to do with the game and more to do with the system/ owner
Fortunately I've never been unlucky enough to have a PS3 fail on me, but I did have a corrupted HDD once and that just required a simple replacement, It really had nothing to do with the console.
I have always looked after them well and the PS3 I have now, which is the Slim that I got in 2009 is still working ordinarily today.
