    Game hangs after ESRB and Square/Enix graphic

    Launcher works just fine, I click the green play button and the client starts to cycle thru the ESRB logo and and Square Enix logo, then black screen. no error messages or codes. the only thing it responds to is clicking the x to close the window then it gives me the in game "are you sure you want to exit" dialogue with twinkly crystal sound. any help?

    Suppose is should include that this is a new thing that just started today after some windows updates happened last night.

    And now i get the windows message that FFXIV:ARR has stopped working. Please dont tell me i need to re-install the client, that update download takes years. oh please oh please oh please

    For reference, Skyrim loads and plays perfectly in UltraHigh since the windows update.

    reverting to state prior to windows update did not change my symptoms

    Reinstalling the client and updating to current build has fixed this issue. grrrrrrrrr
