    @ Camate: Devs aware of broken pet state?

    Hey Camate,

    I saw your announcement regarding devs addressing the issue with high repair cost. Any word on Arcanist pet fix in the works?

    Currently the pet system is nothing but a nuisance since we cannot choose what spells to autocast or turn off, and fairy pet's dying to AOE dots without damage reduction- also pet commands are bugged and spam all spells even when told to hold.

    These issues are seriously holding Arcanist/Sch/Summoners back from being playable.

    Any word on ETA on fix?

    One of my main issues with pets, is titan. He's got a ton of hp, as much as a good tank... yet he takes hits as bad or worse than I do. He struggles to stay alive tanking even 2 mobs in a dungeon, not due to their special attacks, which he resists quite nicely, but because their melee attacks hit him for a lot of damage. For instance, the golems that spawn in A. Keep on the first boss with the soulflayer, hit my titan for 600-800 a hit with their melee attacks, or over 1k with criticals. Even I take less damage than that. <.<; And you can forget a group of more than 2 normal mobs in a dungeon, simply because their melee attacks will quickly tear him to shreds, even spamming sustain and physick on him.

    That and his melee hits really dont build much emnity, making him not very viable as a tank.


    I know another common complaint is that when using place on a pet, if said pet gets hit with knock back, such as from the primal battle with ifrit, they don't go back to their original location. I know with garuda (hard), after using place, my garuda-egi will lose line of sight with garuda after she warps, proceed to wander to the middle of the arena, and then refuse to go back to her original spot, which can be an issue when garuda tosses the occasional attack her way and hits all the rocks. <.<

    (also i wanted my gambit AI system like FFXII had for pets. ;_; )

    titan is a tank for overworld zones not for dungeons , still i was able to use it as offtank in some pulls , even tanked the wall in AK , is doable but far from perfect , in Dungeons u want a real tank

    I think this is how they intended, since they fixed they part where you can control your pets while in GCD, but not casting... I guess their original intention is to let players think before every skill they cast?

    Tho it's really unfair for pet users, cause no other classes have a whole additional skill bar & a pet position to worry about, not to mention those pets are still buggy & not exactly responsive. The devs need to seriously reconsider this one.

    And also not really essential, but I need to be able to control pets while mounting as well, or at least force them to follow, cause if I run by a random mob & it targets me, the pet will stay back & fight it, then disappear after the player run too far away...

    For endgame dungeons I only tried tanking with titan at the last boss in WP, while the tank focus on dps & help with adds since we had no other range, worked pretty well I must say xD

    Given the lack of tanks in game, I don't understand why YoshiP doesn't flesh out summoner more to fill the gaps. I think if SMN wants to play tank, go for it. Devs (and DF) should encourage that.

    Might make it interesting to force a SMN to pick, though. Either queue as a tank and only get titan, or queue as a DPS and get to choose between ifrit and garuda.

    Imma add to the summoner list of demands! Or .. Pleas oh vengeful Community Rep. Can we get Carbuncle back as a summon option? I understand most will say just unequip my job stone, but I had him till 45 on summoner and he's a way better companion then Garuda Eg, plus their da,age output is about equal(maybe another thing in need of fixing?). Plus there really is zero reasons to ever unequal your job stone for Arcanist. Carbuncle is the only reason.

    Garuda is like a cat, will kill me given the chance. Carby is like a dog, faithful till the bitter end and always saving my tail.

    eh, was just saying that even if we were given full micro control of our pets, that kind of thing would still be a handicap.
    personally, i'd rather a customisable ffxii-esque gambit system plus movements.

    iirc, you'd just have to tell it on steady before mounting.
