You know, it's not just the getting hit by a plume that can get you killed. Or it's not just DPS. Sometime you, yourself, the healer get hit by a plume. Or the tank lost hate for a second and the mob oneshotted the poor BLM. Or the tank didn't grab the mob in time during T4 and it oneshotted someone. Oh and, you know Swiftcast is not used only for raise, right? SCHs use it to re-cast the fairy or switch it, WHM can swiftcast Medica II in situation like Ifrit Nails, after Ifrit astral flow or Titan jumps.

and NONE of those are the failings of the healer, they are all failings of the DD and the tank, except poor placement of the healers pet, which is the healers failing...using it to insta cast a heal makes it a useful tool for a healer, but not a required one...
