Need Some Advice From Experienced DotL!

Hello. Recently I got to level 30 with my main and picked up my BLM job. I see more and more players complaining about the lack of Gil, or rather replenishable Gil, in end game for DoW and DoM players. I don't want to make this mistake and end up in a hole I cant get out of. So, I think it's time to invest time into a crafting/gathering job/s. That being said, I'm rather confused as to which way I should go. I understand it's too early in the games life to really gauge the economy, mainly due most players not paying a sub yet and swelling the market with surplus product. When their free month ends and they leave the economy will no doubt stabilize into something more predictable, or at least won't hopefully be as depressing as it is now. I want to be apart of that, and would like some advice from experienced players on what avenue's are wise to investigate and what sort of end goal to have in mind. o_o

It depends on your playstyle and how you like to make your money:

If you want a hassle-free generation of money, you can try DoH (Miner/Botanist) and sell your raw materials on the Market Boards.
If you want to generate a consistent flow of gil, you can try Culinarian or Alchemist as both medicine and food will always be in demand for higher level players.
If you want to generate a larger sum at a slower pace, almost all of the other DoL have the ability to make something that will be somewhat lucrative, whether it is finished equipment such as gear or crafted materials such as ingots, lumber, leather, plates, or thread/cloth.

I'd say do research on what makes sense for your economy. Check costs on materials and see if it's more money for you to simply play the Market Board and buy raw materials and turn them around for profit.

I Personally have been leveling up everything... Best advise I can give you is to try and be self efficient... The more you know the less money you will need... All of these players are upset because they can't get gil, but none of them can make their own weapons armor or food... If you are self efficient you don't need to purchase any of that stuff you can just make your own and make a few bucks on the side that you can use for whatever you want...

Thanks guy, very practical. I'll look into what you've suggested and make a decision from there. I appreciate your input!
