Doing the story quests opens up side quest in previously quest free zones. A lot of them are loosely connected or share a similar timeline to the main story quests. You'll see! Enjoy.

Thanks much everyone, I think I am missing the main story quest as some mentioned. Guess I am too used to GW2 were one has logs for regular and story quests and it is very obvious which or what to do. I read somewhere that there are markers on the map were these quests are located...
Lovin' FF14 by the way. Best graphic and gameplay hands down. Thanks again everyone for the helpful answers!

The main story quests are easilly recognizable by the fire ring around it's marks on the map / above NPC / in the Journals. Youc an also fitler quests in Journal.

You should have gone to Limsa and then Ul'Dah and back to Gridania for your story. You're a bit over-leveled now so I'd, like everyone else, suggest getting back on track with your story questline.
I did actually did do the quest were to visit Limsa and Ul'da, the one to take the airship to these locations. I can't however find any more NPC open quests walking through all of the locations or on the maps.. Somewhere I am missing something but I can't figure out were it is. Can't believe I am so lost at this one...![]()

hmm pretty sure after u go to uldah u have to go to adventurers guild in limsa for the 1st dungeon story quest ;/ not sure if thats what u meant ;p

I missed the main quest in Ul'Dah (Same place you turn in the quest) and had to return there to pick it up.
You know, now thinking about it (am at work ^^) I still have a dungeon quest, the first one were you have to group up, sitting there. I never did that one yet, could this hold up my progression?

				Yes ......
I actually have a similar question as the OP but in regards to after finishing the main story and doing all the 'leveled' quests in said area, on the road to getting to 50.
What about leveling up your other classes? Here's what I mean....
I personally started out as a THM, figuring I'd go BLM but I wanted to try out all the classes and after getting around 25, I started working a bit on CNJ. Well, I happen to like CNJ better and now I'm 37 CNJ/WHM. But going back to get some other classes up to at least 15, I found I have no quests other then my class quests (level 5, 10, etc.). There is nothing inbetween as I've done them all already....only reason I was able to get my CNJ out from level 15 to my THM's level was the quicker duty ques and repetitive dungeon crawls untill I got to where my THM was. Then I was able to continue with the story and the area quests it lead to.
continued...
