Can we climb ladders?

I see these platforms with ladders but we cant go up ? /sad

You can always look around and try to jump on surroundings and work your way on top of the structure you want to get to. I remember walking up a hill, jumping onto a crystal and jumping across a few buildings just to get to a higher crystal on the side of a mountain. Good times.
