    Unstable FPS on high-end build?

    First off, PC specs :

    i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 72 hours stable on prime95
    8GB DDR3 1333MHz
    256GB Vertex 4 SSD
    160GB Intel X-25M G2 SSD
    2x Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X
    13.10 Beta drivers

Medium-High settings on FFXIV, and some parts where there really isn't much going on or an area that isn't particularly graphically intensive, I get dropped to 40-45fps. With this setup and at my settings, I expect 60fps throughout.

Don't tell me it's my CPU, cos I can record fraps at 1080 (Fraps is CPU intensive) on Ifrit at 60fps gameplay still (only tried recording at one place).

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the high end rigs crap performance club. Unless your PC is super overkill for this game it just doesn't run stable. It could be a few things, DX9 not 11, Drivers not optimized ( which they aren't really tbh ), Game not utilizing resources available fully.

I would direct you to this thread where we are having the same discussion: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...3-fps-in-towns.
