Nah, if people leave because of this then obviously they're playing the wrong game. This game requires some patience in certain areas and seeing some of the most ADD-ridden people leaving would be a good thing for the community.Something tells me this is going to push away a lot of players ( unless the gear score is reasonable) If you need like all Darklight gear to do end game content then this will sure back fire. I feel people shouldn't be restricted of content because there gear isn't up to snuff
The restriction is only acceptable if it's set to the minimum level at which the fight is slightly possible. If people are forced to obtain better gear than is truly necessary just to participate, there WILL be a lot of pushback from the community.
oh christ wowscore, just what we need, more teenagers on a power kick screaming an ranting at others over silly pixel shinys...
The problem is that most of the people complaining about Gear not being up to their standards are the people not patient because they're rushing to endgame for the best gear and best stuff as soon as they can.
The current patient members of the community are currently building their character by getting their cross-skills, crafts, gather, and gear ready first before jumping into Endgame and not expecting everyone to already have a full Darklight set and Relic Weapon.
sadly with the speedrun of amdapor + farming of fate for level up, Gearscore =/= skill , you can be full darklight if you don't know how to play...
you get the point.
ps: and with this, we will see some party be based on the gearscore (like in wow and some game), even if the gearscore asked is way too high for what they gonna do.
like some people that will not bring you at ifrit HM because you don't have the the full darklight or at least full amdapor. when is fairly doable with only the AF and GC weapon level 50

the Idea of GS is good.
but it cannot be compulsory as people may group up with their own team![]()
Well, maybe those rushing to endgame will get bored faster then, with even fewer people joining them because most people like to take their time enjoying the game. The problem is that most of the people complaining about Gear not being up to their standards are the people not patient because they're rushing to endgame for the best gear and best stuff as soon as they can.

DCUO has a similar concept called Combat Rating (CR) - and a number of instances are either CR locked (you can't queue up if you don't meet the minimum CR), or CR loot-locked (you can walk into the instance, but you won't get loot if you're below the minimum CR).
One of the more recent DLC has raids that require a CR of around 86 or so to enter....LFG shouts are now "need xx role CR96+". Basically you need to finish the raid to earn the marks to get the gear to run the raid.
Gearscore? *Shudder*
It's a shame another system is being put in place to crutch the failings of the duty finder. Hopefully this wont matter if you try with your friends, but I am betting it will.
