My guess for the requirements?
Ifrit HM: Average IL 50
Garuda HM: Average IL 55
Titan HM: Average IL 60
That way you can have one or two undergeared slots IF your other gear is overgeared. Also they mentioned average IL will be on your char sheet.

The addon (and, eventually, built-in feature) was handy, like all tools. However, the people using it to make ridiculous requests is what made GS a blight on WoW.
Because of my personal experience, I'll continue having similar feelings about GS: by itself it's a useful tool, when used by the go-go-go types it's a nightmare.
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.

Remember when they unlocked the LK fight in ICC? Not an hour after the servers came up, "LF3M ICC. Must have completion achievement!"The addon (and, eventually, built-in feature) was handy, like all tools. However, the people using it to make ridiculous requests is what made GS a blight on WoW.

GS is a fine tool no matter how you put it. Its just the bad apples you see the majority of. Obviously if you are excluded from a person's group due to some arbitrary number you wouldn't have liked it in that group to begin with.

Gearscore tends to be a blight upon most games that implement it. HOWEVER if done right like suggested above, needing lvl 45 gear for a 50 Ifrit hard that would be fine, if only to get people to upgrade passed their level 30 crap. But if its extremely rigid and the content begins to get mostly about having top end gear vs tactics/strategy and teamwork hell the eff no.

1 and 3 sound like a step in the right direction. 2 sounds like a step in the wrong direction. We'll see how this pans out.
This is going to be a fiasco like it is in so many games. People will no longer loom at the skill of the player but gear score instead. You'll be like 2-5 points short and people will be like you suck, while they could actually be able to do it good enough

Its a good idea and step in the right direction. Too many AF geared players in Titan HM making it impossible to win.
i'm sure it create progression as well as the main scenario does.

LFM..VoA,min gearscore xxxx(several hundred scores higher than the gear in the raid) link achieve(gotta of done the place and have better gear,in order to do the place and get gear...lol)!!!!!!!
that will be FF soon
not quite the same thing as gearscore because gearscore is based on the stats, while this is based just on item level.http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post1232837
I'm personally excited at the prospect...just hopefully it doesn't count cloth gear for tanks etc and other ways of exploiting the system.
Hopefully they'll set the restriction pretty low so it only prevents trolling by entering naked or with minimal gear on purpose.
