Not to say this game is terrible, it isn't. It's quite enjoyable, but I fear for the game's future. I think many of us do. It's a gilded game. I think most of the "defenders" of this game were so desperate for a good MMORPG that there's no turning back now..

I understand your feeling, just remember that FFXI was too easy until CoP came out which is the first expansion that gave us tons of challenges. The dev team want it to be easy to begin with and get more players as possible for them to able to enjoy. They will see it's all up to players if they want more challenges. If it's too hard for most of players then they would have to nerf it so they don't lose subscribers.

Anyway, to answer your thread, I think de-leveling is unnecessary, a waste of time, and not even challenging. Also, telling players to go back to whatever MMO isn't good for SE.
