Imagine of "de-leveling" came back to XIV..

People would lose their minds. All of the casual players would go absolutely crazy and go back to WoW.

It would be a great day indeed. Why do people find it so difficult to actually play content that requires a little bit of thought involved? Just a little bit of effort? Also, why does this game have to focus so much on solo content but very little on partying (it actually discourages partying by making dungeon EXP so little compared to FATEs) when MMORPGs are supposed to be played with other people? If you want to play solo, go play the other 11 offline Final Fantasies.

This game is already easy, why make it even easier?

De-leveling is a revolutionary mechanic that makes people actually care about not wanting to die and try to avoid making idiotic choices when partying.

When people die in this game they still go crazy, but all there is is a 1 minute "weakness" and you have to repair your equipment which costs next to nothing, even at 50. If you are dying that much anyway then you should go back to WoW where everything is handed out to you on a silver platter.

Please, why can't we have a MMORPG where partying is encouraged and there are repercussions for dying and the content is more difficult than a children's 4-piece puzzle..?

You can keep on thinking about it. This isn't XI, so it ain't happening ...

If you want it THAT BAD, XI is still online and working. You CAN go back to that.

I would love to go back to XI, but unfortunately the servers are almost empty anyone who IS online do not want to party at lower levels because they are already at the maximum level.

Not to say this game is terrible, it isn't. It's quite enjoyable, but I fear for the game's future. I think many of us do. It's a gilded game. I think most of the "defenders" of this game were so desperate for a good MMORPG that there's no turning back now..

It'd be nice to see a bit of difficulty in any of the modern MMO's out there, but I really don't see it happening. Companies are out there for one thing, and one thing only: Money. I dare you to even try to find a company that actually cares about their players, and cares about making good games.

Well for one. I do not have the time to play for several hrs on end like I did with FFXI for 6yrs+. I used to stay up late many nights till like 6am playing. After FFXI I got older, matured etc, so I am happy how FFXIV got developed. I feel a sense of accomplishment even if I only play about an hr or 2 a day. I do play more than 2hrs many nights but real life > game. Plus I told myself anyway, that I wouldnt let myself get addicted to FFXIV as well. I have played many other MMO's after FFXI, but I also played them casually.

Also, I do like a challenge but I dont mean a time sink in things to be a challenge. Make some content hard

My only real issue with EXP loss is that it discourages trying new things. I've no issue with it otherwise, but when something is actively against people finding new ways to work with the system, it's an issue.

Exp loss is a outdated mechanic that belongs buried in the past. It feels like the game is saying oh you lagged? died through no fault of your own? here take this -10% exp loss you cretin and get a better internet connection! no thanks had enough of exp loss in Glast Heim to last me a life time.

Deleveling is probably the dumbest feature I've come across in an mmo. Difficulty? How the hell does that increase difficulty? It only serves to make content repetitive and boring. Not to mention there can be plenty of factors to someone dying. Connection going out, bad party, trolls etc.

You want a challenge then request ACTUAL content, like a tougher dungeon. THINK. Give the devs original ideas rather than something that has been done and failed. There's a reason why that feature isn't seen in a lot of mmos.

Final fantasy 11 was an amazon game. I played it for 5 years and it never got old. Yea it did get repetitive with the constant exp grind before and after end game content, but you did that with you ls and other ppl. It gave a great sense of community. Which is very lacking in this game. In 11 when you got your gear from end game it made all those hours worth grinding an chatting soo worth it. If there were some areas where you could go out and grind exp with a party, and it be worth it, that would be amazing.
