As an IT professional you never win. In a situation like this you never win, especially when it requires coordination across multiple regions with the possibility that something is going to go wrong with the deployment. Granted I assume SE has the patch ready to go, it has been tested, the hardware is in place already setup and they just need to run the script to change the IPS in the routing tables and the game to bring the new hardware online, but something always goes wrong.

This is why you perform maint in this case when 99% of the staff to support it is in the office. We are not talking bringing one simple server online here. We are most likely talking the addition of 50+ servers across both regions in a 10 hour period. This is no small feat to coordinate in a 10 hour period. You people that sit there and complain like you have a clue really need to STFU and just go away tonight.

Now if they were just patching the game and the server structure was correct yes I could see regional patching. Na patched during JP prime time and such, but not when you are adding 50+ servers to each region.
