    WTB More weapon choices!

    I dunno if its just me or if any other players feels the same way, but I really hope that we can have more weapon choices for difference jobs

    For example:
    Warriors: 2h Axe, Sword, Mace
    Paly: 1h Sword, mace, shield
    Dragoon: 2h Polearm, Spear
    Bard: 1h Sword, Axe
    Monk: 2h Knuckles, 2h Shaolin style staffs
    Mages in general: 1h Sword, mace, 2h Staffs, 1h staffs, magebooks.

    Stats can be same across the same item lvl or slightly different to server different purpose.

    IE: Warriors
    2h Axe - a bit more dmg stats for fights that require more dmg
    2h Sword - a bit more defensive stats for fights that require to mitigates burst boss dmg fights
    2h Mace - evenly distributed stats for general purpose tanking

    What do you guys think?

    Well, the game mechanics are set for once, a pld/gld will have to use a sword (+ shield), a war/mrd will have to use a g-axe, etc.
    Its how the amoury-system is working. Its even on the FAQ's

    Except GLD/PLD can also use daggers, which doesn't make sense. They could have given them maces instead.

    This is hardly a mechanic that is set in stone. If square wanted to, they could open paladins to using wands in combat if they slapped a "pld" in the allowed classes section instead of blm.

    Thinking that designing a new weapon variety or allowing a class use existing weapons those weapons is impossible, or even difficult from a game-design standpoint is rather foolish. I mean, they already have two different kinds of wands and staves.. some the Conjurer uses and some the Thaumaturge uses.

    I'd be okay with a bit more variety. However it should stay similar. Bards should still use ranged two-handed weapons, warriors should keep 2-handed great weapons, dragoons polearms, etc etc.

    Besides, they could be saving those other weapon types for future classes/jobs.
