SPAM killer suggestion

The spam is horrible. I walked into Gridania today, and the spam was coming so fast, there was nothing else to be seen, no matter how big I made the chat box. Further, it was so fast, I couldn't copy/paste even their name, never mind the contents of their text into the blacklist, or a harassment report.


Other games I've played, and I'll call it more than a few, have had the option to right-click a name, and report spam. This would ostensibly copy the text of the reportee into a spam report, as well as automatically putting them on a bottomless ignore/black list.


Why make it so we first have to blacklist them in order to slow the chat down enough to copy their text, and then make a 6 step navigation through the system menu in order to file a report where we can paste the offensive BS.

NOW, you'll have more people actually reporting these buttwipes, instead of merely blacklisting them and feeling safe.

Yeah i agree, something needs to be done about these gold spammers you can't see anything but a wall of text flooding out everything else. You can never find parties for anything,all you see is gold sellers spam. Please do something about this

I can not stand the amount of spam going on for gil selling. How about this...

Make it that if a certain character gets several spam reports it flags them. Then once flagged players can seek out the gil seller and kill them which sends them to a room until customer support can ban their IP and the spam killer gets a small reward. This will cause the gil spammers to hide and make a fun hide and seek game at least! I am so tired of these gil spammers that I would love to hunt them down and take part in their banning!

Seriously, something needs to be done because you can not see a single thing other than the spam. Once my black list hits 200 then what are we supposed to do!? It doesn't seem like very much is being done to keep them away. How hard would it really be to have a GM sit in towns kicking them off the servers and banning them? Eventually they would at least try to be stealthy about it instead of flooding the general chat channel...

Any player that /shout the same message more then 3x within a minute, gets CHAT BANNED for 24 HRs.

Only one problem with that, they seem to generate a code at the end of each spam message that is unique. Even if it's only 6 letters, it's not the same message.

Nay, we need user interaction that takes all of 2 clicks to complete.

I'd prefer they go away permanently not limited to a certain amount of shouts per minute.

Two things:
1) The gold sellers always add some sort of randomly generated string of characters at the end so the /shout wouldn't be considered the same text. They do it in other games, it's not a new practice.
2) A 24 hour chat ban for posting the same message three times in a MINUTE? That's ridiculous, frankly.

Especially when they're repeating those message with their randomly generated codes once a second.

A simple "right click-report spam" button would be wonderful. I have both my shout and yell turned off due to the amount of spam I get, which is ridiculous but necessary.
