    I honestly feel like the job system and cross-class skill system is a relic from 1.0 they simply kept to not piss off 1.0 players. Should've completely deleted the job and cross class system, considering a Conj is a WHM at level1, a PUG is a monk at level1, etc. The only class that COMPLETELY changes by changing it's job is arcanist - > scholar. A summoner is basically an arcanist with ifrit.

    The amount of choices you have with cross class skills make little to no sense, you're basically given 3 skills that are "duh", then the others are "Why would you ever take this?" or "these don't do anything". No choices, no options, just obvious cross-class skills every single person is going to take.

    It's just going to make things so annoying and harder on the devs when they want to add new classes, it's already stupid enough a scholar has to play 30 levels queueing up dungeons as a DPS until it can finally become a main healer at 30. What if they add a class to conj that's DPS, conj has to heal for 30 levels then can finally DPS once it dings 30? Silly, and when they add new branches to jobs players can instantly start playing that the second it's released because it'll just be a simple quest to unlock it. Not very fun.


    I miss the subjob system, I miss 1.0's armory system, I personally would've like something better, right now the cross-class system is so generic and unfinished with little to no options or fun. All the cross-class might as well be given default to every class and no one would tell the difference.

    The attributes you get leveling up also has no options, you're just going to max your main stat.

    WRT to quest resets I'd rather not see them reset but new ones generated all the time on all levels maybe changing once a week or so. So that no matter when you start a new class you'll get some new stuff. Maybe adding some extra story under it would be nice as well. Like same fresh story once a month or so for you to follow through. Doesn't need to be complex like the main one. But could give you some incentive to revisit all the dungeons and all the areas and so on. It would certainly bring in more life into it all. It's a living breathing world and it just doesn't reset after you've finished it. It should keep going. Maybe some of the NPCs you've helped should go ow you've hepled me before but there's something different about you. Ahh you are working with <guild> now. That's nice. Here's what I need to done this time.

    Maybe have some shart story quest chains. Where you would do this then they send you to the next, then the next. With a diff icon of course and rewards/xp.

    Noata applying that type of logic to a game that is about entertainment is just completely missing the point.
    At best derailing a topic since it is baiting people into going into a pointless discussion.


    Anyway designing content through patches takes time.
    It might just be a better idea to go for some band aid fixes I've suggested while working on that.
    Just to make getting jobs up more fun and rewarding people for sticking to one character instead of making alts a much better option.

    manage your quest.. if you are lvl 20.. dont do all quest below 20.. look for lvl 20 quests.. if you find a lvl 15 quest.. save it for next class.

    do leves, guildhests, fates dungeons... the amount of XP given away in this game is so much there is no reason you should reset regular quests. also this is not angry birds.. its an RPG. quest done, story told... unless the npcs all suffer for amnesia, it kills immersion.. and in before "not everyone cares about immersion" well if you dont care about immersion then RPG (key words ROLE PLAYING ) MMOs should not be your thing.

    HA people saying there are not enough quests, you obviously have not explored every area, and if you did, it's your own fault for doing those level 30 quests when your class is level 40. How is that being punished to just save those quests for the next class. Go ahead and do a character search for me on the lodestone, pug and glad where already at 50 so ignore those and their respective subs, as they are the only classes I leveled in 1.0 you can see I have gained quite a bit of XP on all of DoW and DoM and I still have a butt load of quests I haven't even touched, it's your own fault for not planning ahead and leaving those lower leveled quests for other classes not the games. Also when running through a lower level area for fetch quests and what not, don't level sync for the fate, change class so you get that XP.

    Agree there isn't enough quests, hopefully they will add a ton more in 2.1 cause after 45 there are just so few its not even funny.

    People only running AK is an issue and thats only because currently people can skip WP, gear check should correct this also with any luck.

    I think it would make more sense to have monsters drop loot in dungeons than have chest spawned around, speed runners will still ignore them though so there should be a increase in tomes if you clear the complete dungeon.

    Even if you manage your quests you would in the most effective scenario run still about the same amount of fates over the course of 3-4 jobs.
    You have the choice to pick when you do these quests but you have not the choice to do more than the given number set.
    You will still be running the same amount of Amdapor keep runs for the same amount of tomes you need ,which remains the only gear step up instance.

    Which brings this to a very simple conclusion there aren't enough quests to cover two jobs from 1 to 50 period, let alone well designed alternatives.
    Take into account how many jobs there are around, and how much exp from the total of 4 jobs you need to draw from fate grinding.

    Yes the choice remains for you to either not do it or find another way to level up which the game doesn't seem to encourage you to do so.
    This is a themepark MMO in the end and it clings to an mechanic (fate grind) which isn't all that great.
    Compare this to other theme park mmo's where you can quest from 1 to max and still have a lot of quests left after that and those don't even have jobs.


    But in the ultimate end the question remains, is this how the job system should work?
    The same goes for the cross class abilities and such.

    That's what you need to ask yourself

    - Do I like it and why?
    - Is this concept keeping people hooked?
    - Will the concept be considered as fun by most?
    - What extra does job swapping add?

    But most of all could it be done better, well yes it can be done a lot better in my eyes.
