Yeah this game needs a lot more side Quests!!
classes are supposed to be used while questing/leveling hence the utility. When I started as conjurer I was overjoyed, I could pick a lot of abilities from other classes.
I felt like I had a choice and could pick skills that would fit my play style, I thought this was an awesome idea.
The moment I hit White mage I had no choice, there are a few skills I can pick and done.
All the fun abilities where gone.
White mage is in every way superior in healing over a conjurer.
They might as well have given WHM swift cast and virus and there would be no difference.
jobs are for all the group content, that's why they lack utility but gain strength in their domain.
not yet]- Not enough cross job skills to toy around with
well...maxing out all classes in two months would just be silly, wouldn't it...No quests to do on the second job, also less gil.
don't worry about that. look at any MMO in it's first month and then look at it a couple of months/years later...I hope it will receive some polish myself since it feels more like jobs got tagged on than well thought out.![]()
FATE leveling alt classes is very fast, since you get a bonus. Way faster than leveling your main through quests. It's just not fun and comes off as bad game design to build the leveling system around it.
true, and hopefully an oversight by the dev team. i can't really imagen that fate grinding in it's current state was intended. especially in comparison to the other avaible level content.
what i meant however was leveling by the same quests you did with your first class, which is already way too fast for my taste..
Pretty much this, doing anything else besides fates slows you down.
If the quests would reset I would be questing and ignoring most fates, it's a lot slower but more fun.
I also think fates should be porting you to an instance and group people up.
That way some might be actually fun, perhaps up the difficulty as well.
Some of those fate bosses are really fun and deserve a bit more.
It's just becoming boring when you got 50 to 100 people zerging the hell out of anything that moves.
Not uncommon to see like 10 to 15 holy balls going up every few seconds during a fate.
It's just a spamfest and not even nice for your eyes.
I suppose an alt would be fun, but I just can't believe that farming fates for all your jobs is how they intended it.
Let alone consider this to be remotely fun.

The guildhest dismishing return is ridiculous. I mean in the 2nd time you have to wait for 10m to get into the instance for 1300EXP at lv20, or you can just simply do some FATE in South Shroud and get 8K+.
Having quests reset upon switching class (At least for DoM/DoW) sounds marvelous. It's a shame that it isn't the case. I'm not 50 yet, but right now, there's nothing my Warrior can do to level other than grinding FATEs or running dungeons. My Scholar took almost all of the quests, and the few I left behind for my Warrior weren't even enough to gain me a level. It's also sad that there aren't separate Leve Allowances for GC/Battle/Field/Tradecraft Leves, if there were, leveling would at least be more tolerable when looking at a second or third Job. FATEs, while effective, are terribly boring. Almost as boring as leveling Botany or Mining without Leves. Dungeons are fine if it's on your level, but a waste of time otherwise for XP. It's rather disappointing knowing that if I want to level a third Job after my WAR/SCH hit 50, I have only FATEs to look forward to if I plan on actually leveling at a tolerable (if slightly too fast) pace.
Remember the good old days when we would complain that it took us a year to level a job? Man I remember those days.
Now we complain that it takes us a few days to do the same thing.
