    Unique Retainer Names?

    Is there a reason a lot of the names I try for my retainer are 'taken'?

    Can I not -nickname- my retainer what someone else has called their retainer?

    Doesn't really make sense to me, especially since I can't see other people's retainers anyway.

    I'm a bit confused how this works.

    You see other people's retainers' names at the market board. I suspect some people will get used to seeing certain retainers' names, and maybe even know the person who is selling through them, so they may prefer to buy from that retainer. If retainer names weren't unique, this couldn't happen.
