    I don't think its a buff exactly...
Here is how I think it works:

My gladiator is R50... so is my Lancer

If I want my Gladiator to use "Twisting Vice", an R42 Lancer weaponskill, then it will be less effective
    But....
If I use "Twisting Vice" in a battle regimen and put it directly after someone else's Lancer weaponskill, then my "Twisting Vice" maintains the class affinity as if I was a lancer and therefore does full damage

It's similar to stacking different class weaponskills to increase damage... its not a buff, per se.... it just increases the damage of consecutive skills

It works, BUT it changes the BR type from WS buff to Cross-Class, so every WS after the Gladiator's Twisting Vice wont be buffed, or will be considerably less buffed. The best tactic is that if someone has to perform a skill that's not of his current class then he should be the one closing the BR

I've tried this with 2 different conjurer spells and with 2 of the same conjurer spells but the log doesn't give any indication that the intended effect is applied. It doesn't give the regimen a name. Anyone know if it's broken or if there's something I'm missing?
There is no regiment names that appear with that regiment. The only time you will see Regiment of ...... is when you inflict a debuff on the mob.

Those 2 you listed are dmg enhancing regiments. With the same WSs and the Same Nukes (same as in same class) there is no direct dmg increase if you are using it on the class of the attack. So say a thunder 2 on conj => thunder 2 on conj does nothing (both classes have 100% conj affinity), but a thunder 2 on conj => thunder 2 on thurm will make the second one stronger (The regiment increases the affinity level of the conj abilities on the thurm)

The 2nd nuke will be stronger but it because of the affinity increase of the class that the ability is not native too.

Honestly I see little use for this regiment outside maby incapacitation.

So just reading it, you'd assume it increased player damage overall... which it most certainly does not
At best this is ambiguous. Here's the full list of BRs:

The additional effects produced by successfully executed Battle Regimens, and the combinations that yield them, are listed below.

-Lowers a target’s physical defense Normal attack⇒Normal attack Light Slash⇒Heavy Strike
-Lowers a target’s magic defense Normal attack⇒Magic attack Light Slash⇒Phantom Dart
    -Increases a target’s casting time/raises MP costs Normal attack⇒Magic spell Light Slash⇒Fire
    -Lowers a target’s TP progression/raises TP costs Normal attack⇒Weaponskill Light Slash⇒Red Lotus
-Maintains the effectiveness of class abilities when used by different classes Magic spell⇒Magic spell (both from same class)
Weaponskill⇒Weaponskill (both from same class) Trunksplitter⇒Brandish
    -Increases player damage Weaponskill⇒Weaponskill⇒Magic spell
(weaponskills from different classes, finishing spell is optional) Magic spell⇒Magic spell⇒Weaponskill
(spells from different classes, finishing weaponskill is optional) Blizzard⇒Scourge⇒Puncture

As you can see Rydin the first 4 BRs produce effects that last outside of the BR and the last one only lasts inside it. The last one is also essentially a skill chain and magic burst from XI carried over. So the 5th one would seem to me to follow with the trend of the first 4, that is, granting affinity to outside-class abilities for the duration of the buff/battle. You are saying it is just like a skillchain and some others have said that too. If so, it wouldn't apply to things like Bio since you'd need 2 Conjurers to both stack Bio, which would be retarded. So on that note I think we need confirmation from the dev team.

Xatsh has laid out position #2 quite well.. can we get a clarification on how this battle regimen works?

They've never specified the effect of DoTs in a battle regimen....
But you can easily test this... all you need is 1 person with a cross class ability... and someone else from the class of said ability... and see if damage scales... and if that damage is just for the BR or overall...
Its really 30 minutes of testing. You can even pretend you're on mythbusters... haha

if there is no buff on the mob then the regimen didn't work. it's very easy to see if it worked or not.

Not quite.. the point of this discussion is to figure out if it is even a MOB buff at all or does it just boost the affinity, and therefore the damage of the second ability
