Airship like what the hell, and lore quests, and continuing posts

Hello SE team, and fellow adventurers,

I am enjoying my journey throu this game, I just hit 15 and I have gotten my airship pass, and Im like wtf?

The point of an airship is not to instantly teleport you from city to city, that's downright stupid. You could've just gave us a teleport for that, which we get once we touch the crystal. I would think the point of the airship was for us to let us fly over Eorzea and see the land, and think WOW this is amazing I cant wait to go there, and even see other players fighting mobs. This is kind of a negative for me. I wish and hope they add this to the game.

Quests/Lore - So far the quests haven't really be final fantasy like for me, more WOW like then anything, kill this this and this and your done. Granted I have only gotten to 15, but is this how it will be when I get to 50, the best part of Final Fantasy were quest, and the challenge that awaited. Like in 11 how every quest you did, it might of been completely useless for you to do, but it had a rich story, and made you feel like you were doing someone a good deed. Maybe it is this way later on in the game, but right now I just feel like the quests are there just for you to level up, and have no significant reason other then that.

Quests/Level up - As you know there really 1 set of quests for each starting area, and once you do them, its grind, grind, grind, which I don't mind, but what I was really hoping for because as the devs said they took some pointers from WoW and other base MMOrpgs. It just seemed they didn't take the most crucial pointer of them all, and that's you cant change your class/job in those games, so however many set of quests would work for your character in those games, so I was hoping they would of taken the initiative, and made the starting quests repeatable, or a set of quests for every job/class, and take away the grind feel.

HNM, NMs, KNMs, Wanted NMs - I'm not going to lie, these are one of the best points of any MMORPGs. The drops from these monsters lets you know you have something rare, and makes you feel like you've accomplished something. TBH I think this is one of the reasons that made FFXI so great. I hope they implement it in this game. And I would love I mean love wanted NMS, for riches, fame, and glory. That kind of stuff excites me. I know there's NMs, but not in the same sense as FFXI.

Other ideas - As I am sure everyone heard, about them maybe added the golden saucer in the game, but what about a tower, like at the end Valkyrie Profile 2, or SAO, OR TOD.

In conclusion this game impresses me a lot, and makes me want to play almost everyday, and I enjoy it even more each time I progress in the main story line. I hope they entertain me even more. Thank you for making such an wonderful game

This is not the forum for posts like this -- this is for technical issues and bugs. You might want to take this post over to the Gameplay area of the forums.

You mentioned wanting job specific quests....have you not been doing any of the job specific content?

Not sure where you're getting the grind factor... at least not on the road to about 15-17. After that, you can start participating in the main story duty fights--those fights can ding you a level per fight early on (haven't progressed too far yet). Between doing the hunt lists, job story line, Leves, main story fights/quests, and the fates I come across running around for each of those I've only had to "grind" part of only 1 level per job on the way to 15---and that was typically just to get that last 1-2k to ding 10 or 15 to log the next job specific quest.

And that's not on just a few jobs either... that's been every job to 15-17 except for my level 12 GLA (which I just unlocked Monday night). That won't take much more either as I still have to run the level 10 job quest, have about 18k left to earn in my hunt list, and have some easy leves available in basically one zone that are good for a quick 12k or so as well. So, I may wind up having to run an extra round or two of leves and keep hitting Fates for 3-4k a pop to finally ding 15, then do that job quest and it's available for use on duties after that.

Granted, it's not instantaneous leveling or anything.. but it's by NO means a "grind". FFXI pre Abyssea or even TAU.... now THAT was a grindfest--especiall solo/duo like I've been doing in XIV. Oh yeah... did I mention that? I've been mostly SOLOING these jobs to 15. I've teamed up a little here and there with ONE friend along the way---but it's mostly been SOLO...I managed to unlock and SOLO ARC to 16 in ONE day for heaven's sake.

If you are in fact taking advantage of all the extra content... maybe you aren't taking advantage of all the ways to earn bonus exp.? In case you didn't know... most food gives you a 3% xp boost, and your 50% rested bonus is earned by logging out in Sanctuary or in a room at an Inn (click the Comfy Bed to log out... cute animation for it). In addition to that, you also get a bonus to your lower jobs based on the difference between that and your highest job. So you benefit more to play a job for a longer time before switching (if you aren't taking one job to 30 or further first, dont' change jobs every couple of levels... bracket them in larger chunks and you will gain more bonus exp. on the lower jobs).

If you learn to milk the bonus xp tweaks into your hunt list you can get crazy xp. BTW, you get a new hunt line with each job, each line has a new list that opens up every 10 levels on that job. You'll get your bonus xp per kill until that buffer burns down, and you get a flat reward after completing each objective in the list, as well as a big fat chunk when you complete that rank's list. Some of the mobs are in Fate's as well, so you get to kill two birds at once sometimes. I've found that I can SOLO my way to at least the level 17/18 objectives on every job before I ding 15--with some jobs I've managed to run the entire rank 2 quest (level 20) to ding 15 or 16. ARC was the last job I pulled that off on, MRD before that--that's right, I killed level 20 objectives at 15 and got the big fat bonus at the end and dinged 16. Won't lie.. it's a challenge for some jobs, and died a few times before working out a strat---but that's what makes it FUN!!

If you are having to grind your first job, you are in the wrong area. I could argue that even on your second job, you may be doing it wrong. After that it will most likely start to feel grindy. There are FATE parties that are essentially giant grind fests with 8 others, but it is extremely fast xp. You have leve quests for a couple hundred/thousand xp based on your level. I am at 42 and the only reason I have to grind is because I intentionally skipped quests to leave for my CNJ. And I could always go back and do the quests I skipped but nope. You will find mini stories in with some of your quests and your class/job quest are a storyline in themselves. There is Bahamut's coil now and the crystal tower is to be implemented in 2.1. I am disappointed with the airship a little but that's fine. It would be fun the first couple of times, but then it just becomes a time sink. The NM's are meh. There are a couple FATES that give bonuses though. Problem with NM's is you aren't really fighting other players, but botters and RMT. not fun in the least.

Im not talking about the guild quests, Im talking mainly quests for each job to level 1-50 with. make the lower quests repeatable, cause after 2-3 jobs to 15 and your done qwith the city quests

Yes there is job specific content, but like I said before, once you do the beginning quest for each nation, your grinding fates, and job quests, and fodder mobs. So I was saying why not make the beginning quest repeatable for each job/class
