I love the look of the Odin gear as a paladin and the artifact gear, but I end up having to equip less appealing gear such as Darksteel and Darklight (which i just don't personally care for, but no offense to those that do) I wanted to bring up the idea that WoW just recently did called Transmog. It makes it so you can make any piece of gear look like a piece of gear that you can equip and must have in your pack. So you must own the gear you want it to look like and you must be able to wear it in your current class. I don't know if there is a post somewhere around here pitching this idea but I just wanted to see what the community thought of this. It's just sad that I work hard for this Odin Armor suit and It's worse/equivalent than the level 45 class quest gear and 50 class quest chest. Thoughts?

The system in WoW was pretty bad though. Lord of the rings Online has a way better system for changing the looks of your gear! A vanity system like that would be awesome.

The best solution is for SE to implement costume slots and I'm sure they have already thought about it and/or will be implementing it soon.

They already said they plan vanity slots, it won't be ready until 6-8 months after launch though.

Gosh but I wish someone'd repost their having said that. While I remember their promising an aesthetic system and all, irritatingly it was on the testing forums. .. Which are shut now and can't even be viewed.

It had this neat name, too. Something like 'paper doll' only in Japanese? But.. yeah either way, much as I want the system soon as possible it's a ways off yet. Low priority among the 'immediate future' additions or so.

Still, to tender a bit more detail and head off railing against wearing inappropriate gear.. promise at the time was that any item in the vanity selection had to be wearable by the user in the first place. So no wearing above-level gear or plate on a mage through the vanity setup.

Nuh uh o.o This was mentioned on the testing forums long after they announced the gear set system. It was specifically in reply to people asking for 'vanity slots'. The 'mannequin system' with it's buying more mannequins and the like was another concept altogether that they did indeed fold into the gear sets. They definitely explained an aesthetic override set system and gave it some esoteric name or other - 'paper doll' is just what pops to mind when I try to remember the translation of that name they gave.
