Text Notification when Friends or LS mates login or logout.

I would love to see the addition of a text notification in the chat log that let you know when friends on your friend list signed in or signed out of the game. This would be great for linkshell members as well, so you can see when someone comes online or signs off the game.

I find myself checking who's online when I login, but forget about it, unless they send me a message... If I could see them sign into the game, it would make it easier to connect with my friends when they come online.

It would be also a good idea, for players to hide this from their friends seeing them sign in, /anon anyone?

Not a rush, but something I hope we see eventually.

For most people on our LS, the solution has been to run FFXIV through Valve's Steam client, then the Steam overlay pops up whenever any of our friends play FFXIV.

I don't think Linkshells were meant to be actual 'Guild' structures from other games, or even Linkshells from Final Fantasy XI, I always thought of them more as social devices than actual organisational structure. However, with the changes to 'Public Companies' to NPC run 'Grand Companies' and such, I'd hope they would add these things sooner rather than later...unless of course the 'Public Companies' come back with a vengeance.

I want to see more than text in the chat log, something similar to the pop up notification you get on PSN and XBL would be cool.

Would be cool if it would make a sound as well to alert you to the notification.

I still want to see this happen, as well as when friends sign in and out. It's a little thing that means a lot.
