I agree with the Great Idea comments, although I'm not sure how easy it would be to differentiate this from the NM based Levequests. Perhaps simply split the NM quests out into their own 'Hunts' section?

Example: Each levequest timer refresh, 1 Hunt per level range is offered, (e.g. 1-20, 21-30,31-40,41-50). Hunts are given a 45 Minute timer from their start at the Aethryte and the players are given some small clues on things like location to find the monster/how spawn it and maybe a few simple tips on fighting it.

Another possible issue would be players going at these with 15 player parties in order to just zip through the quests for Loot. The best way to probably solve this and also make the Hunts memorable and challenging would be to impose a maximum party size and limited difficulty settings, say 4 or 8 man party size cap and 2 difficulty settings (Low and High). This would hopefully encourage smarter play rather than just dumping a lot of players at the Hunt Bosses for gear.

It's inevitable some guides would come out for the Hunts, but a small element of randomization (such as location or precise spawn conditions) and such would probably keep them from being too bland after they've been out a month or two.

I disagree with making the hunts into leves. I find leves a little boring and I would rather go to the boards in the pub to get the hunts with no time limits because it might take 20 mins just to find what special ways to make the NM pop. I also do not want to go to a crystal just to activate a hunt for a NM its just wierd. Once you make the NM pop it can be an "instance" so multiple people can hunt the NM and not have to wait for it to respawn. Also I disagree on the difficulties rating for NMs from a Hunt it takes away from any challenge the game might be able to offer. Difficult ratings just offer do you want to die in 1 hit or 2 no real challenge really comes from any of the rating I have been through. If people want to go in with 15 players just to zoom thru the NM thats on them, I know I want the challenge and I won't go in with 15 people just because others do that and I won't complain just to take away their fun, rewards can either be exclusive or items that can be sold on the Markets. Price doesn't matter since money flows like water in this game.

I would agree to having a NM hunter board and all NM from hunter board are also offer in leves for players that cannot find the time to do what is require to pop it or find it too hard to fight them and need to lower the difficulty. At least giving the options players have the chance to play all contents their own way.

One of the cooler features from NM from FFXII was some NM were immune to physical damage and can only be hurt from magic or vice versa. Another one was damage can only be done if it was poison. These what makes the NM interesting in FFXII and offer some type of challenge.
