Sounds a great idea and fun.
But I would like a split up with mob size and number of player need. Cause I feel like this way is more fun. You know when you have like a bunch of player to hunt with you and you target just small as a rabbit. It would kind of turn you off right? Or a super big nm and you kill it with only 8ppl. It would be boring also right? "Hunt" is suppose to exictment and fun and Tactical right>?
Example:
A small large size NM with 3 player to kill it.
Place: Anywhere.
A Medium large size NM with 8 player to kill it.
Place: A outdoor area with some space
A Big large size NM with 16 player to kill it.
Place: A cave or castle.
A Extra large size NM with 32-36 player.
Place: dungeon or top of moutain or castle or like ffxi bcnm/dynamis area.
Apply only 3-5 linkshell with larger member each week and the linkshell who win/lose from lasttime can't join the after next week. Of course add a List call freelancer for those player who have interesting to join but dont have such larger linkshell or the linkshell dont have enough people.(With this way lonelywolf can join battle at sametime can play with new player)
Just my silly personal idea feel free to ignore it.
Make no mistake. I'm not you alliances. I'm here cause I just do what I felt is right thing to do.
I fully support clan mark style monster quests on the guild boards. As long as it promotes dungeon, landmark, and general exploration. Also make the enemies/quests unique or even have minor appearance cutscenes (instanced areas perhaps).

This sounds like a good idea. However I would really love for them to fix more important things first then worry about this later.
This would be a great addition to FF14, especially if it's exactly the same.
I'd use the board next to the counter, and have it work very similar to XII, and you can only progress once you've finished the available ones.I think a very fun idea would be to implement some content such as marks, similar to FF12. To make it easy to implement, you could use the guildleve counter. Notorious monsters (NM's) of all different types and levels, could be rotated on the "Hunt Board" similarly to leves. I think the most interesting aspect of it should be spawn conditions for the NM. The board could give you information about an NM and tell you where it spawns, but leave it up to the player to deduce what exactly they need to do to spawn it. The NM's themselves should be interesting to fight, using unique abilities and having traits or trademarks.
I think the biggest reason most players are not having fun in Final Fantasy XIV, is because they are not challenged enough. We'd like content that involves using our brains, because otherwise the game becomes too monotonous and we lose the fire that keeps us playing.
Now with that said, I think it would be excellent to have different paths to different monsters, some paths open up only have doing some quests, or meeting other conditions. And I think to add a level of challenge is to have some mobs pop only if a particular class is in your party or you are that class. Thus having people team up if they want to kill a mob, if they didn't want to play that class.
Going even further on that idea, it might be nice to allow for a level sync option into the game. When you go to fight the lower level mobs. This way high level players can have a challenge early one when this system is introduced.
To sum up, the idea would work is that there are hunt "lines" a player starts down one path, and doing so opens up new paths with new targets... And these can be expanded on later down the line.
Love this idea!![]()

It could function exactly like the Guild Board currently does, couldn't it? Wouldn't it be just like a guild task for DoW/DoM rather than a task for DoH/DoL? Go kill X monster with or without group, report to proper city guild?
So did I, I added hunt, and hunt board. The possibilities for this would be huge, and memories of XII and even XIII "hunt" style system come to mine.![]()

Wow, I didn't realize this topic was posted such a long time ago. I completely missed it. Yes, a mark board like in FF12 would be a good way to add variety and content.
The devs really need to implement more of the good ideas from past FF games. The Materia system is a promising start, and I'd be pleased as punch if the took Triple Triad from FF8 as well.
