5 months is not a short period of time in the MMO Industry...... Just look at WOW, released cata later than FFXIV, just released a content patch.

WoW doesn't have to recreate a game from the ground up.
WoW didn't have to deal with an earthquake.
WoW's graphical detail isn't as complex or taxing as XIV's.
WoW is specifically for the PC while XIV has to keep the PS3 in mind.
WoW has had 5-6 months from cata release and where probably planning the content release for a long time, Yoshi has had 3-4 months to completley re-structure the game.
WoW has a lot more room for freedom of development due to it's high popularity.
WoW bleh blee bloo blah blah.

Ostia is just trolling on every forum they post on, I mean not troll..since even trolls know the difference between a 2004 established MMORPG and a 2010 rushed MMO in the process of redesigning.

I dont think you wanna compare a 2004 vanilla wow to a 2010+7-8 months FFXIV, the comparison is not even fair, vanilla wow had more content on its release day, than FFXIV will have probably by the 1 year mark of it's deathbed span.

As for the guy you quoted, most of your points with the exception of the earthquake are irrelevant, the battle system was clunky but it was not broken, it could have been tweked and improved, the graphics to me atleast are meh, i'm not a graphic whore so idgaf plus it instantly shrunk the games player base by a lot(Bad marketing decision) as for the 5-6 months and planning ahead, well this game had 5+ YEARS THATS YEARS!!! Even tanaka said they had a full one year of content already planned and worked for this game, so where is it ? i hope is not those 40 NM that are a joke.....
