I think you guys are failing to understand. I'm not a troll all I'm saying is If SE doesn't employ more people updates are going to come way to slowly for the game to be fixed. If they're having trouble adding mounts with the time they've been given then how do you expect them to release future content and small stuff like mounts player housing etc. When games like Wow releases mounts almost every patch and new achivements etc. Not only wow, but much like gifthorse said look at all that and its in beta. Look at rift which had a solid release and had 2million subscribers a week after its release and at this time it has like 2.5million. I realize you guys don't want wow and thats FINE no one is saying this game is going to be like Wow I'm just saying take the good stuff from other mmo's and implement them. I realize development takes time, but development shouldn't take 7 months for a few ui changes.

It's you who is failing to understand. I understand that the community is frustrated with the state of the thing, but it's not as simple as just, "Wah! Put mounts in! We demand it." You are overlooking some FUNDAMENTAL and UNQUESTIONABLE facts in your assumptions and that is why you are being perceived as a troll.

1. IT HASN'T BEEN 7 MONTHS

This is a favored statistic amongst trolls. "Wha?! You've had 5 years of development and 7 months since launch!" This is BS. Everyone knows or SHOULD know that the CURRENT dev team has only been on since Jan 1. Does that excuse the state of the game? No. But there are other issues at play here as well.

2. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE

Also another favored saying amongst trolls. "The stuff they have done isn't enough!" We've had way more than just 'UI Fixes' since Jan. Period. And hiring more people won't help when the dev team is focusing on other priorities.

3. IT IS EASY TO IMPLEMENT

You have no possible way of knowing that. Yes they may have part of these transportation systems in place but we have no idea what the current state is of the entire system. The current Dev team has BIGGER priorities. Not only have they accomplished what they have in 3 months (Subtracting one for the disaster), they are also REDESIGNING IT. They are changing the BATTLE SYSTEM, THE CRAFTING SYSTEM, THE COMPANIES SYSTEM, MAPS, AND THE JOB SYSTEM. That is almost 100% of the game that is being redesigned by the new dev team and your biggest complaint is that you don't have chocobos?

This is why people have labeled you a troll. We have heard the same thing a hundred times before. They aren't going to cave and put in Chocobos and Airships when their main focus is fixing the game from the ground up.

I addressed this in an early post. We've seen quite a few large additions to the game in just April alone. Your statement is invalid.

I mean do you really consider a few ui changes a good patch? I mean WOO EQUIPMENT HAS ITS OWN TAB is that really an amazing patch? Can you really consider that good? =\ I guess no matter what happens its just fanboys will be fanboys the thing is most of you are going to defend fanboys cause this is a FF forum, but the general public would say the patches are coming way to slow for things to ever be fixed. I mean thing of the release then look at now really nothings changed, I mean yeah sure they've improved the Ui a little bit, but is those 7 or 8 ui changes in the pass 7 months enough to suffice for your taste? What I'm saying is lets look at the overall game and the speed of patches and lets look at how and what exactly changes. most patches are Ui changes and yet you guys are happy with that? Sure progress is progress, but What I'm trying to say is if everyone says SE move faster they'll have no choice, but to move faster. If everyone says remake the game they'll have no choice to remake the game. At this point its a lost cause and they really do just need to either scratch it or be releasing a patch every week otherwise the games just going to die. I mean its already dead sorry. each server barely breaking 300 people isn't going to be enough to keep the servers up even if they all pay the monthly fee.Also don't think of this thread as a troll I mean were just two parties speaking our opinions which is true, but what I'm saying does have a point to some extent. If things don't get fixed faster how does the game have any hope in surviving

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you don't play this game or ever read any patch notes. Otherwise you'd know there are more than a few UI changes over the 7 months. So again I reiterate:

You keep saying it takes them a month to add in 1 small UI change, let's take a look at what we've seen from April:

Roughly 2 dozen sidequests (many company-related).

Adjustments to guild marks rewards.

Party size reduction to 8.

Readjustment of enemy values in regards to this.

Addition of 20 NMs for mid-rank.

Unique items to go with all of them.

Enemy distribution changes.

Addition of aggro and rank icon toggle.

Addition of daily guild tasks.

Various other UI adjustments

Various bug fixes.


Yeah they sure did take months to add a single UI change.

This was JUST April and I left out a lot of the smaller stuff they changed. If you want I can go and pull all the major points out of all the patches under the current team.

300 people on each server? Where are you getting your numbers? I'd really love to see the source on it. No seriously, post it and I'll believe you if it's true.

I don't see how they could honestly move any faster. 2 patches a month is unheard of in most MMOs, it's a pretty intense speed. Not to mention they're doing this in sub-par conditions just so they can have the servers running.

I said practically. And one day you will log in and the game will be drastically different, you are absolutely right. Jobs will be named differently, there will be a new job system, a new crafting system, a new grouping system, a new companies system, new transportation, and a new battle system.
