WHat are your guys' gil making tactics?

No, this is not another thread complaining about the economy of the game. Lol.
I'm actually just legitimately curious how you guys earn your gil, because I'd like to get underway saving up my own funds for endgame and beyond.

I would like to know which crafting or gathering classes have the best revenue tactics, and what those tactics may be. I don't mind spending some time doing this.
Which items are high in demand on the market? How do you play the market?

This is something that doesnt seem to have a lot of insight just yet as 2.0 is still young. But any insight you guys can provide me would be incredibly helpful.

Crafting classes. It's slow in the start and may actually cost you money (not a bad idea to gather your own resources or ask FC to help you), but eventually they will make good profit. Crafting leves are also cost-effective, especially if you obtain all raw materials from FC or gather them yourself.

I make one or two session of that per week. I also sell my HQ proc.

I'm also doing 3/4 Leves per Day for repairing purpose only. But i don't play all day... So I don't know if you can do that with only 6 Leves per day, i you play dungeon all day...

I just mine and farm shards. People go nuts for them.

I enjoy the crafting and gathering side of the game so I'm in luck there - I make and sell all sorts of stuff from finished products, to raw materials.

What I have learned during this though, that you might appreciate is, that a lot of low end crafting materials; some that can be obtained without even needing to be a gatherer or crafter (ie. certain kinds of animal hide, or the eternally elusive diremite web), fetch a remarkably high price on the market and are easily farmed; the complaint from craft-haters that there is "no way to make money" is completely fallacious, people just need to pay more attention to the market boards, and the loot they're obtaining from combat.

Delving into the crafting market; there is always demand for the "processed" raw materials, ie leather circles, lumber, ingots - because all craft classes tend to need a mixture to make their finished products, yet only the respective classes can create the raw components.

I gather and craft mainly. And use classes that go together, like mining and gsm..... I do a day's worth of gathering, then a day's worth of crafting. Sell majority of what I make and materials I don't use. Also since when you do quests you get the same gear as other quests. If I currently own it I pick the gil instead of another piece of armor.

This is awesome! THanks guys. I am open to more suggestions of course. Are there specific gathering materials that fetch a high price? any particular mob drops?

I haven't seen anyone say there is "no way to make money." There are plenty of ways to make money. The argument I see is that "there are not enough ways to generate gil." I know it may sound like semantics, but it is economics 101. There are lots of good ways to make money, and these usually involve taking other peoples' gil via trading. This is my second character I've created, and since I'm an armorcrafter, I just take the gil option on the quests, as that is a good way to "generate gil" in the game.

Everytime a person buys or sells any single item on the market boards, then gil is being removed from the server. Once this happens enough times, and the newcomers leveling dies down, then a large portion of gil will have just vanished from the server (as guild depletion seems to be greater than gil creation). This is all prediction based on evidence of players at 50. People are warning the community (and mods) before this prediction occurs. Most aren't being lazy; but rather proactive in coming up with solutions before the economy crashes. Funny enough, this set of circumstances is exactly why my country is about 17 trillion in debt, and nobody still seems to care. People have money in their wallets, and they assume everything is fine. However, it is the value of that money/gil that will be destroyed unless something is done.

Anyway, the best way to generate gil in this game (aside from leveling up a new character) is doing crafting levequests. Unfortunately, there is a limit on them a day, so make sure to only turn-in high quality items for the triple gil reward. I do that, and I generally break even on leveling up crafting and repairs. Meaning, quest reward money is all profit.
