Who Are We?

KOTR was founded in Jan 2010 by 3 UK based players who had played FFXI, and who wanted a linkshell that catered primarily to European and UK players, and for those players that generally had real life commitments a lot of the time and could not play 24/7.

Who Should Be Interested?

If you are looking for a mature, EU based social linkshell that generally operates on a GMT+0/1 clock (ie: prime time for us is around 17:00-00:00 GMT+0/1) and isn't expecting you to be on every single day, then you are in the right place.

A significant number of our members craft, and we encourage members to either craft or provide materials from their travels to the linkshell "bank", for crafters to use in the future. In return, our crafters are normally more than happy to craft or repair items for you.

While we are not a hardcore or raiding linkshell, occasionally we do fight the rank 50 NM's, as well as some of the open world NM's. We have taken down Tarbh Uisge/Mathistien, Haughtpox Bloatbelly, Uraeus, Zani'goh/Goldfang, and Natali Xlotl so far.

If you're wanting to level to endgame quickly and/or raid most times a week, then we're probably not for you. We're planning on enjoying the exploration, crafting...etc...and taking our own sweet time.

Oh, and we have a ridiculously long "LS Rulebook" that sets the framework for how we do pretty much everything. It's mostly common sense, and was designed to spell out what is generally obvious for a lot of people. It's primarily there to keep the drama queens and loot wh**** looking to take advantage of kind people away, and to keep those that still manage make it through in check. If you're a sensible, polite, mature person, then I wouldn't worry about it. If you take offense at potentially having to "tow the line", we're probably not for you.

What Can We Offer?

1. A website where you can keep track of LS Events and News.
2. Forums (accessed via the website) where you can discuss various aspects of gameplay with fellow members.
3. A Mumble server, to facilitate socialising while playing (who wants to spend ages typing, when you can talk instead!).
4. An open, relaxed, and mature social group you can hang out with while exploring the delights FFXIV has to offer.

Our Requirements

1. You must be over 18 to be considered. No exceptions.
2. Nowadays, before you can apply you must be recommended by one of our Members. This can only be done after we have partied with you on at least one occasion to see whether you would fit in with us.

One question, if youre recruiting only by recomendation, then why do you advertise your shell? :P
How many active members do you have?

Because if you don't know we're recruiting, how are you going to know we're willing to take on new members?

Rather than working out whether you fit in with us or not after we pearl you, we prefer to do it the other way round. As such, the application that follows is more of a formality nowadays.

We currently have around 25 active (ie: on almost every day for a good few hours) players, 10-15 less active players (on a few times a week), and 10-15 even less active players (on once every 1-2 weeks). The spread is because a lot of our members have families and significant RL commitments. Bottom line: everyone plays when they can, they have a good social time when they're online with us.

If you're interested in that kind of shell, then ask and we'll give you a trial. If not, there are plenty of other good shells out there that will take you on without looking at you first.

Most of the members are on around 7pm GMT as this is normally when we do leve runs. Next time your on give one of the officers a /tell. and we should be able to sort out a party with you.

So I've read the rulebook, application forum and basicly the entire forum I am allowed as guest, and thinking I've done it well, sent my apply...

I think after all I didn't understand well the process, since I've submitted an application form before contacting anyone. Do people get tested before submitting an application? Do I still have a chance to join? I'm confused /(;_; )\

When you are next in game try to contact one of the officers and they will try and arrange a party with you. After that your application will be approved or rejected. Dont worry just because you applied before contacting someone you will still have a chance.
