Gee, I guess there's far more interest in the ilevel requirement stuff, maybe I mistitled the thread. Or I shouldn't have translated that bit But I'm going to buy a large bathtub of Dark Matter V after the maintenance and swim around in it! And die repeatedly in full leather on Odin for craft exp!

Since they're tackling this, I have no issues at all with the rest of the economy whatever. As far as I'm concerned, I could not care less if the economy deflates/stagnates/inflates as long as I'm sustainable.

Item Level != Required Level to wear item.

You can have a grey quality item that requires level 25 to wear have an item level of say 25 and a green quality item that requires level 25 to wear but an item level of say 34 (which gives it a higher allotment of stats compared to the grey quality item).

This method proved useful in WoW as it prevented people from rushing alts to end-game level and then bringing them into higher end dungeons via the dungeon finder (duty finder) without quality gear required to successfully run the dungeon and would severely hinder the party.

The only solution was to then kick the player from the group and wait for the dungeon finder (duty finder) to find someone else and hope they had the right gear for the run, which was costly if the player you had to remove was a tank and you then had to sit there and wait for a tank for a long while. Some dungeons are a severe gear check and implementing this helps people who have to wait for a long time to get into a queue not have to deal with grouping with people who lack the gear to complete the dungeon they're queuing for.

Pretty sure AF is gonna fly as the item level is 55. I think the Item level requirement will address people running around in level 20 rings/belts/etc.

Umm, that is NOT good! Two reasons:

1. Some items don't upgrade as often as others. Jewelry and belts especially. I ended up wearing a pair of level 9 rings up until 35+, because they are so uncommon.

2. A higher level often does not equal better. I am currently wearing a great level 32 (green) chest piece. I have seen level 40 (grey) chests offered to me as quest rewards, but they aren't really better than the one I am wearing.


If they require a high average item level to enter the higher level dungeons, they are only going to force players to buy and equip items they shouldn't need.

Are you sure you are talking about item lvl? This is not the Level you can wear the item. A green item you can wear at lvl 32 has a higher item lvl then a Grey item you can wear at lvl 32.

I'm wondering how exactly they Change the Price. But I'm optimistic since they say "greatly". I was starting to think ybout canceling my subsciption cause of this Problem. I'm a happy lala now
