Gear info is stored locally. For PC it's C:\Users\YourUser\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\FFXIV_CHRsomerandomcombination\GEARSET.DAT
If you want to transfer you gearset from pc to ps3 (or other way around), equip gear on pc, login on ps3 and save.

Same for your hotbar settings and macros. They are stored locally (on your pc/PS3) not on the server.

I understand that PC and PS3 store the hotbar and gear sets locally, but for gear sets this seems like a hindrance. If I get a piece of gear that updates all of my DoH classes, that is 16 gear set updates that I have to do instead of 8. This seems to go against the game philosophy of simplicity. The only reason I can see for not syncing them is memory requirement. I don't know of any situation where you would use different gear on PS3 vs. PC.

If they stored all gear sets on servers for this, it would just put unnecessary load on servers, since:
    - Request to server when you create gear set
    - Request to server when you remove gear set
    - Request to server when you update gear set
    - Request to server when you equip gear set
And since most of players only own one version of the game, decision to store gear sets locally is very wise one. And adding more load on servers just for comfort of really small part of player base seems like not worth it.
Anyway, did you try just to copy gear sets from PC to PS3 or vice versa? .dat file I mean.
Note: I have no clue if PS3 actually stores them same way PC does, so it's just assumption.

For all you know the PS3 version could be saving gearsets on the server and the PC version stores them locally. Please don't comment on another person's bug report saying it's not a problem when it clearly is.

Laraul, be so kind and point me to where exactly I said it's not a problem? And to begin with, it's not even a bug since it's working as intended.

No - both version saves those settings localy.

And - in pricipal this is not a bug as it works as intended and will be most certainly marked as suched / moved to such folder. All what could be done here is to suggest the feature to have this data stored server side and it was already discussed earlier and devs replied that they'll look into implementing such functionality.

His response was "it puts to much load on the servers, people only have one version, so log on back and forth between the PC and PS3 to sync your gear sets."

Your response is nothing like his in that it's reasonable and helpful.

    Thank you.
