Don't restrict character creation. Restrict new accounts to specific servers instead.

I have one character on one server. I wanted to make a new character on the same server but could not because of the restriction. Me having another character on the server is not going to increase the load on it because I obviously can't play both at the same time.

Instead of making Character creation restrictions which are indiscriminate and effect people already on a server, make a restriction that only stops new characters for people who are Not already on that server. This change would not increase the load on the server and people already on it would be able to play with new character designs.

their restriction probably don't work that way, it's probably a simple restrict all or restrict nothing command. I do agree with you though

They really should've thought that out more. The other major MMOs like World of Warcraft and Star Wars: The Old Republic (just to name a couple) made restrictions account based. They could have easily observed and emulated the function.

Think outside the box. It's probably not to decrease the load. It's more than likely to save themselves from further issues when this month is over and everyone starts paying to play. The subscriptions are going to be one character for 12.99 or eight characters for 14.99. They have probably set this restriction in place to contain the amount of alts they'll have to "clean up" or restrict game play to. They already have a lot of alts that were made during open beta that they will have to restrict access to. They probably assume a lot of people will make a lot of alt and when time comes they'll end up paying for only one of them. So until that time they probably just want to keep it as clean as they can.

Agreed, I hope that they change this soon. If I already have a character on a specific server, I shouldn't be restricted from making another character on that same server.
