With SE making crafting a class of its own is it really worth while even doing it?
Crafting is ungodly in the amount of time it takes to level up with very little reward.
Yes you can sell your wares on the market at least until people notice that every second side quest gives you your next tier of gear totally free of charge why would any 1 spend there hard earned gil on say a iron lance (lvl 20) when there given it for compleating the lvl 20 lancer class quest why would they buy new armor when the next questing area they go to for the storyline will give it to them?
They can repair there own gear again big deal you can get npcs to do that for you and when grade 3 dark matter (the grade i need to repair my gear) costs just as much as a npc to repair i may as well take the quick option.
The stat diffrence from melding is so insignificant that the next tier gear that you can get for free again from questing will still be better.
They can HQ there gear oh wow a increase in stats thats lets be honest not really needed until endgame.
Then theres the gathering to support your crafting skill which again is a playable class all of its own which is so repeatative its like watching paint dry i guess the only nice part with gathering your can zone out watching tv while you do it.
then theres all the other materials you need to thats crafted by other crafting professions while this is a nice idea but also makes crafting a massive gil sink (unless you level all class's even)
prehaps some of you disagree and i would love you to convince me to carry on crafting because at the moment i just dont see the point of it.
If crafters made the best endgame gear with mats/recipes that dropped in hardmode dungons as well as second best gear it would be a lot more appealing though i think there would be massive fallout with the people that rushed to 50 and have no crafting class
