True but that's a persons own fault and decision... If people wanna rank up elsewhere they WILL do it, they just choose NOT too atm! Travel is so insanely fast and easy in this game, especially with a party sharing anima that that isn't a valid excuse in the least. You know you can start coerthas as low as 20 and mor dhona at 35 right? :P

Monster ranks are spread out enough as is lol ... Alot of people do need that extra hand holding though to go out into the world, but as it stands right now... When your not on leves or wanna chain behest (Sigh) No reason to stick around these bland starting zones xD

No reason not to either, and there lies the problem.

It's not really about like or dislike.
if i wouldn't like FFXIV i wouldn't play it at all XD.
i love FFXIV's soundtrack, coerthas & mor dhona music fit their zone just perfectly.
it's just the battle music that feels off in fights.
it's like i said before, the music is ahead of the fights, it's like listening to a uber piece of boss tune while fighting a little rat XD.

here is a piece from FFXI, personally my favorite because it was very fitting.

everytime i entered a battlefield with this music i knew that something big is coming for me (and before endless nerf patches very tough >_<)

this is how it end up in FFXIV

very good tune, but not very fitting the battle.
    it's just my opinion tho.
probably it's really just FFXI that had my expections up high, but i still hope to get better fitting battle music in later expansions, especially for important story battles, like the promathia fight, or odin/alexander.
it's what makes a FF game better for me ^^

I love Uematsu, don't get me wrong guys, but I hate his 80s hair metal phase. The black mages ( i have the two main albums they did, love them but not the vocal tracks) is better than some of these background tracks. Some need minor work and he knows that, he said he didn't get to see finalized version of zones before he made music, he only got to see concept art. He'll know better for expansion zones.

Agreed, but the soundtrack itself is great and VERY Final Fantasy! Just sucks how he didn't have context to go with his work so some stuff is... off xD ... Soooooo many unused tracks too for those that have heard the OST^^ Lots of songs used too only once or twice in game that are really wowing- "Answers" being one of those tracks imho *^.^*

The music in XIV is beautiful, I just think some pieces they used in certain areas just do not fit :/

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Yeah, like coerthas. The music in coerthas makes no sense, it's great music but it doesn't fit the zone AT ALL imo. It's ru'lude gardens music, not coerthas music o_o It belongs in a big awesome elegant city.

FFXI has better music than FFXIV? What?

This is pure example of people who are too stricken with nostalgia to hear straight.

No, it isn't better. Yes FFXI is a great game yes it has good music but a lot of the music contains recycled beats and lacks spirit. Compared to most FF games, only a small handful of songs really stick out.

FFXIV contains a lot of variation and a lot of style, and it conveys mood quite well. Some songs not as good as others but its soundtrack is better than XI by far.
