keep in mind every relic weapon in the game requires lvl 50 crafted weapons... then tell me if it's worth it.

Pro: You can probably earn enough money to cover your DoW/M repair cost. Maybe materia and relic weapon.
Con: Not much use for anything else since dungeon gear is better and anything of use to DoW/M requires items that can only be obtained by DoW/M: Potash, Hardened Sap, Peacock Ore, Animal Fat, and Coke. Depending on how desperate the other crafters on your servers are you can probably bleed their gil by selling these on the market board which can also help your repair costs.

The only thing that annoyed me about crafting is the RNG itself. I am equipped appropriate to my level, even the tools are HQ. Tried to create items which has 15 level requirement to current level and failed the touch command for 5 times in a row.... the quality ended up at 8% and somehow it HQed the item for me. On the other hand, another item got a quality to 98% but give me an NQ. This happened quite a lot too for some reason..

Don't launch as a crafting class. Ignore it until you have one or more DoW, DoM to 50. Everything over 30 is beast mat anyway.
The quest lines for the crafting classes and the potential levequest crafts are a gill opportunity but as others have pointed out, the gear doesn't compete. Even at level 50 my Weaver requires HQ mats to make HQ parts on anything but Hempen yarn and cloth. Between the stealth throttles, low stats and time to level, crafting is something you do or don't.
If you are asking, the answer is no, it isn't worth it.

Well, for me, it has been both fun AND rewarding... You just need to get the knack on crafting HQ items often, then they sell very well on the market, effectively paying your teleportation costs, repair costs while STILL keeping all the money you get from quests.
I do admit, though: it can be frustrating... I really hate when the supposed "10%" of failure chance for Basic Touch + Steady Hand keeps ocurring at the worst moments and FAR more often than just 10% of the time...
So, personally, I will tell you that Crafting on this game is a matter of whether you like it or not. I am very good at maths and the crafting here is very dependant on numbers, therefore, I like it; it is fun and challenging for me, and rewarding since I know my way through the market boards... But I do realize not many people share this liking of mine, so... well, you see from this point on.
I started very early with both DoH and DoL (before reaching 20 on my first combat class), and I must say: I have little to no regrets.
Fun fact: I was attracted to the feature because of Materia. I already got gear with slots and 3 DoH professions over level 20 and I am yet to make any melding. The twists of life, huh...

Like you, I have my potential control and craftsmanship capped out and it doesn't matter. Touch fail is locked in and it's closer to half the time for me. It's tied to the quality to exper system and it was like this in 1.00 as well. In order to throttle power leveling they need to gimp HQ. I know why they do it, I just don't like it.
I make millions of gil every day. I think it's worth it, and apparently people buying the crap I make think it's worth it too.

Crafting is pretty good made 2m so far just putting base relic weapons up on the AH
You can make money doing it, but it's not very "Fulfilling" as everything you make is a sub-par version of what people are clambering to obtain from the endgame.
