Pincer Maneuver quest bug - Can't complete

Quest: Pincer Maneuver - Arcanist Lvl 20

Steps:
Basically, in this quest, you need to kill all mercenaries and keep the NPC alive (as well as yourself).
I am able to do this everytime, however, after the mercenaries are all dead, nothing else happens.
The NPC stays in one place... basically the game glitches and the quest becomes static. I researched before posting and it appears the NPC should run across the bridge saying they got all the mercenaries and to get the grimoire (which is in the back of a caravan) but she never does and there is no grimoire in the caravan. My quest therefore times out and I fail each time. Help please???
